Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse

We walked in with a party of 8, without reservations. We were seated pretty quickly, and the hostess/server was pleasant and efficient. The chef was pretty uninteresting and didn't interact much compared to other hibachi restaurants I've visited, and the shrimp was overcooked to the point of being rubbery. The decor is pleasant but a little dated, and the prices are higher than expected for what you get. All in all, not a horrible experience but I won't race back.

We went to Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse to enjoy a special family time with my out of town family (children, grandchildren) and chose to sit in main room to avoid any scary surprises with my young granddaughters and the Hibachi grills/flames. For the price of the meals we would have expected a nicer atmosphere. The main room seemed to double as a stock room with old parts and supplies lying around. The service was fairly slow and looking at all the junk lying around did not create a special environment. I would not recommend this restaurant as there are other Hibachi restaurants that provide better food, service, and atmosphere.

Its nothing like ordering a to go order for $45 and the people are too lazy to cook it fresh. This place is usually good, but not today. Hard shrimp and rubbery scallops. They should be ashamed. I live 45 min away, I really want to take it back. Update: My order was fixed and everything was tasty and tender.

My wife and I came in for the express lunch special, she picked a 3 meat hibachi for $20 and I went with the filet mignon for $16

We had a wonderful experience here. The food was great, the service was mostly great, and the pricing was spectacular! We were thrilled with the amount of food we got for the price. $35 for a filet, four large scallops, and 10ish good sized shrimp with the rice and veggies. (There is an up-charge for fried rice. I think $2.50, but it's labeled in the menu and worth it.)
The food tasted great, done perfectly, and the cook was very entertaining. He read the table very well. (We even saw him working a different table as we finished and left.)
The place was clean (they cleaned immediately) and comfortable. There was a little bit of wait in our seat at the start because we were the second pair of people to arrive. The table set 8, but they went ahead when there were 6 of us, which was plenty of room and still very enjoyable. However, we did get drink orders and menus to work on while we waited a few minutes to see if anyone else came.
We were there on a Wednesday evening in mid-June, so it was not busy, but there were other tables. The hibachi presentation was wonderful and the food was excellent. Portions are hearty. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area again.
My only suggestion was for the server gal. I only gave 4 stars for service only because she had a hard time being understood and understanding us. She got one other patron's order wrong (which the cook fixed promptly when it was discovered) and had a very hard time with another lady who had special requests.

Service and Food is excellent! The cook is entertaining, funny and personable. Only complaint, the restaurant entry and front area is dirty, disorganized and cluttered. Really hoping that is not a reflection of how the back of house is. The hibachi seating and eating area appeared cleaner.

We've always enjoyed Hibachi dinners, but this place was a real disappointment. Although they were not busy when we arrived, the waitress didn't bring our soup & salad until after our chef was already cooking & serving our meal. We were glad our chicken & steak and shrimp meal was prepared in front of us, and it tasted good. BUT, we will not be returning because as we sat there, we realized how dirty the floor, menu, and restaurant was. Everything we touched felt greasy and smelled of oil. Not sure how often the health department checks on this place, but we don't see how they could pass inspection under the conditions we noticed. Hate to think how the kitchen may have looked. We rarely leave negative feedback
on restaurants, but for a $100 dinner check, we expected a much cleaner environment and a waitress able to get our soup and salad to us sooner, so we could have enjoyed it before our main entrees.
