You have to wave your hands to get any of the kids working here to look up from their phones and take off their earphones and get your pickup order. Then they tell you it’s not ready because they can’t read the name on the bag.

Love this Panera location! The staff is friendly and my online orders are always completed quickly and accurately. Mid day is extremely busy - but the app and ordering ahead makes it an easy lunch option for me during the week. Also would like to thank Martha for her hard work and for always being so caring at the counter!

Placed order online, my bank card was charged. Received notification several minutes later that order was canceled but no reversal of my funds. Went into Panera to pick up order since I thought it was a glitch since I was charged. I was asked did I choose the right store for my order (I sat in the parking lot of the store to place order, so yes I had the correct location) then was asked to show my phone to provide order number and also my online banking activity. They didn’t have the order. Initially was asked was an order that contained sandwiches and soup was mine. I could have easily said yes and walked out with someone else’s order. I just wanted my order of a bowl of soup with chips. I was in the store about 15 minutes or so for Lynn to let me that there was no order and to log back out of my account and log back in to see if it was reversed. The charges were still there. Since everyone behind the contour was dumbfounded, I ended up paying twice for a total of 17.58 for a bowl of wild rice w/chicken soup. Since the both charges did clear my account, I had to dispute the double charge with my bank. This was my first visit to the Independence location and certainly my last. These type of situations make you question that if you were someone else would the outcome have been different, a more favorable manner towards the customer.

Ordered through the app, very, very slow service but it seemed that only two people were working the kitchen area. Food was fine, the Caramel Latte was just okay.

I have a one star because I get the broccoli and cheese soup at least 4 times a week for me and my husband and the last couple weeks and lately it's been like water it's ridiculous and I'm going to stop getting it I pay to much money to be paying for watery soup

I have not had a single bad product from this particular Panera. For being a higher traffic store, the staff are remarkably responsive to customer needs. Wait times are minimal.

Parking: Ample and I do mean ample parking

Wheelchair accessibility: I can say that the main entrance and the mens bathroom is handicap accessible

I come here frequently and am used to the staffing issues (call offs/lack of training etc) but today an employee named Martha was having a long rant behind the front counter within earshot of everyone. She was VERY unhappy with her customers that don’t feel comfortable using the kiosks (other reviewers on here indicate these are not user friendly for everyone), and also unhappy with the staff. I really do understand today’s workplace issues, and I sympathize with her, but the public complaining was really over the top. Two stars for today, because I would normally give this location a 3 (3.5 were that a choice.)
