Whatever staff was working the phones/floor tonight, Sunday (10/5), 8p shift, is awful. I’m an hour away from home, wanted to bring food back for my family, and went out of my way to make it there by 8:45p since orders cut off at 8:30pm online.
At 8:28pm I called, tried to place an order so it was ready by the time I arrived (GPS was showing 8:45 pm). During the phone call, I let her know we had been driving for a while and that we might not be there until 8:46 or 8:47 PM, so I was worried we wouldn’t be able to place our order in time. That’s when she said, “Don’t worry, I have your name here on the caller ID, and I’ll make sure I get your order in for you.”
I offered to give her my credit card information over the phone and then she reassured me the same thing again. Once I arrived, she wouldn’t let me in the building and had someone else (probably the manager playing games) come and let us know they were closed.
They were closed WELL before 9pm, hence all the chairs on the tables… absolutely uncalled for. She could’ve saved me 30 min of my time by letting me know she’d offer 0/10 service, and I just would’ve went home.
The food here is always incredible. It’s staff members like this that’ll kill your business.

I ordered $90 worth of corned beef sandwiches and they were dry as the desert and tasteless. This is nothing like the Slymans in Cleveland. 🤢🤮

I ordered the corn beef fries Friday, which I have had before and they were good. But this day the corn beef was horrible with no flavor and the fries were undercooked. They offered to remake my order. I asked for a refund. The manager said they do not give refunds that she would give me credit on the books because I didn’t want another order afraid the corn beef would taste the same. Now I am forced to order there again or lose my $14. I really don’t want to eat there again.

Got corn beef sandwich and was cold. Fries were ok
Excellent options for both bourbon (blantons!) and beer, the large corned beef and sides are where it’s at. Thank you so much to Mary for the hospitality. Experiences like these keep us coming back from canton when we can.
48 dollar sandwich from door dash. Cornbeef was dry bread was left out. Terrible experience this is not the quality Slymans from downtown Cleveland. Gross and a waste of money

Terrible food and service. Bought the overpriced "massive" corned beef sandwich and received an underwhelmingly barely regular sized sandwich. I asked the server if I was delivered the correct order and was told "yes, they've shrunk them recently" after waiting 5 minutes for her to go "ask the kitchen". I was specifically told that the original will be too big to finish in one setting and told them that I went there specifically for that. My expectations were not met and my concerns were shrugged off and rudely dismissed. I lost my appetite because I felt like I was overcharged and very disappointed. I will never return! shame on you for your false advertisement and rude dismissal.

We were driving through Cleveland thinking about places to eat. We had forgotten about simon's downtown, but we realized there was one rate here in independence... The back room was very warm and toasty... Food was good service was great... Maybe not as good as the one downtown on Saint Clair, but had a great meal. Leftovers to boot!

I went in for a sandwich on recommendation of a co-worker of mine. The food was really good, and shout-out to Mary, our bartender for being awesome. I would definitely go back if I didn't live out of state.
We went for an early dinner on a Sunday. The drink menu had no prices on it, so we asked for the prices and the server said the Champagne Punch was only 5 or 6 dollars. We ordered cocktails and corned beef sandwiches. We went up to look at the gift baskets in the silent auction and our server came up and asked us if we wanted to buy tickets. My friend said yes, so the sever said she would bring tickets over to our table. We went back to the table and waited for our drinks but they did not arrive and then the sandwiches arrived at the table. We assumed our server would then bring the drinks immediately following the sandwiches. We waited and then the server came back to the table later and asked if everything was ok. We told her we had ordered drinks and she said she would check on them. Then after a few more minutes she brought only one drink and said the other would be up soon. The corned beef was tender and was very good, but the slices of bread were very small and were smaller than regular slices of bread. We were finishing our sandwiches and my friend told the server to just cancel her drink because it never arrived at all and she asked the server for the tickets for the silent auction because the server never brought those either. Finally the tickets for the auction arrived. When we got our bills, the champagne punch was not 5 or 6 dollars, but was $8.50 and they up-changed .50 cents for a slice of Swiss cheese and $2.00 for the Rueben. The corned beef was good, but the visit was way too much of a hassle. We were really disappointed. We will never return.
