Charming eatery in a large brick historic home in downtown Jackson Center. Very friendly server/owner? And whimsical atmosphere too. Kathy had their pork slider(s) special ($7) and I had their Taco Salad. Kathy said her sandwiches were good, but I was disappointed in the Taco Salad. Lots of lettuce, very little meat and it was barely seasoned at all. No beans, no corn, just lettuce, meat, salsa, jalapenos and sour cream. We went here because I thought it would be a little more upscale place than the bar down the street. I should have known better because when we pulled up there was only one other car in front and we were the only customers even though it was lunchtime while the Heidaway Bar parking area that we passed on the way was full. We had to eat our meals out of plastic clamshells and use plastic utensils. Felt like I was at a ball park. Serving the meal on a real plate with real silverware would make the presentation so much better and the customer might feel as though they got a better value. I suppose it's probably a health department issue as they don't have a mechanical dishwasher and not room in the back for the stainless 3 compartment sink. But I'm guessing they must have pots and pans to wash?

Extremely slow, long wait for food when they aren't busy. Told 15-20 minutes for pizza, half hour later I get a luke warm pizza. Obviously it was sitting back there and wasn't brought out after me arriving 15 minutes earlier. Not the first time I've had issues here.

I take my family to this lovely spot from time to time! This is my favorite restaurant to grab a bite. I go to this spot many times. The cooking is very tasty, the staff is polite and the charge is reasonable. I like meeting in this restaurant over a good dinner.
