Super slow ! Not the greatest service for not being busy . It was a one and done for us :(
Ghostwriter Public House had been my favorite restaurant in the area for a while. It was my go to place for a great meal with out of town guests. However, they underwent a pretty radical change to the menu and atmosphere in December 2024/January 2025 which left it disappointing. Where the restaurant once had upscale, innovative, delicious meals, it now has a limited menu of overpriced grilled cheese sandwiches. The tomato basil soup, which should have been great, was inexplicably served luke warm. They were also out of several items on the already limited menu. The dining room has transformed into a game room and private dining spaces into lounge areas. Dont get me wrong, this seems like a very trendy bar that would be fun for a night out drinking, but it no longer a restaurant that I would recommend.
Delicious food, great service, and a really cool vibe. New concept, but the same wonderful GW experience.😃❤️ Same yummy Cheese Curds, & You’ve got to try” The Brontë. “ 😋
Great looking restaurant with interesting well-prepared cuisine.
INCREDIBLE! You NEED to check this place out. Food was amazing, drinks were great (highly recommend the Seek No Further Cider). We found our new favorite spot!

Always a fabulous experience at the bar. Carter & Nichole are excellent bartenders & the staff is so friendly & provide excellent service and food recommendations. The seasonal menus are creative in every way. The short rib pasta special tonight was outstanding. Highly recommend GW for your next special event or Friday evening.

I have no idea where to start except to say Johnstown Ohio has one of the absolute outstanding establishments in Ghostwriter Public House.
First, the outside is deceiving, it almost looks like a high-end furniture store. However once you step inside, you'll think you're in Manhattan, Paris or the French countryside. The atmosphere is amazing, elegant, warm and comfortable.
Not to embarrass the staff, but we bent the ear of the manager, Jordan, who had an interesting background of culinary experience and travel. He shared the history of the town and restaurant while beaming with pride.
The bar menu was extensive and excellent. The menu looked incredible and fairly priced.
In short, this place is a gem for locals as well as anyone traveling to and from Columbus for a cocktail, brunch or wonderful dinner...bon appetit!

The place was very nice. Service was excellent. Food was really good for the most part. The deviled eggs were a little plain and 10$ for 2 eggs (4 halves) seemed a little steep but they were well made and still good. The ahi tuna was good mine had some lite charring that took away from the flavor of the tuna and for 48$ the tuna seemed a little small. Ahi poke was delicious as was the ube risotto and sweet potato chips. Dessert was great Dark chocolate torte with expreso ice cream as was the creme brulee! Had a very nice experience and will visit again.

Best brunch we have had in a long time. Lemon ricotta, breakfast sandwhich, and an amazingly delicious burger.

Had a reservation for 5:15pm for an anniversary dinner. The venue was not busy. We even commented on how many empty tables there were. We were escorted to our table, provided with menus, and our drink orders taken promptly and courteously.
After getting our drinks, we waited for 50 minutes before a server noticed that we hadn't been waited on yet. She was courteous and apologized. She offered to comp an appetizer. We placed the order for the appetizer and our meal. The appetizer came out quickly and was delicious.
We waited about 30 more minutes after finishing the appetizer for the meal to come out. One of the dishes, the gnocchi, was served just slightly warmer than room temperature. The flavor was great, but the low temperature that it was served at overpowered the flavors.
All in all, I watched about 6 groups of people get seated, served, eat, pay, and leave by the time we did. One table actually had two turnovers before we were taken care of. I had considered leaving more than once.
While everyone we interacted with was courteous and kind, it was not a good experience, especially for an anniversary. I felt the need to apologize to my husband for having selected the venue. We did not leave until about 7:20pm.
