My first post was 2022I stopped at restaurant but they had changed hands, food was poor, no real potatoes, tater tots ???? Eggs crispy around edges????? Charged almost double of what I'd paid beforeI come to Johnstown once every 2 months with my granddaughter, I will be going down street to eat. Really sad

This used to be a homey diner with low, incandescent lighting and cozy booths. Now it's nothing but someone trying to make a political statement on every surface in the restaurant, and it's clear that everyone is sick of it, and it deserves to be closed.

This place was absolutely terrible. Did not even wanna give a 1 star review. I guess we should have taken the hint when it was empty. The staff were young adolescents who lacked manners and professionalism. Super loud with their gossip behind the counter, lack on initiative to serve us. We had to ask repeatedly for refills (again, we were the only ones in the restraunt and the kids were on their phones and chatting) I ordered a side salad and received fries, then caught attitude when I spoke up about the mistake. My cheeseburger was awful, tasted like an old frozen patty, the condiments were expired, my daughters pancakes, as well as my husbands fries were both frozen and served cold. My daughter had already started eating and I asked them to make fresh fries, they literally dumped the cold ones back in the fryer and served them to my husband crispy and full of grease. When the server finally saw that we hardly touched our food, she asked how everything was. I said terrible, no offer of condolences or to remake the food etc, just said oh sorry then walked away. If we weren’t just traveling through and starving we definitely would have just gotten up and left. It was horrible and expensive. We spent almost $50 on food that was inedible and most left behind.
This place is amazing...from the moment we walked in. Sabrina welcomed us like friends, answered questions, and always engaging. Food was great and the place was very clean. Great place!
The new ownership shows a huge improvement in food quality. My burger was super fresh and delicious. Looking forward to trying the breakfast menu next.Dine in: Yes
Service was very slow. She never came back until she brought the check to the table. The omelet was very brown on the outside and runny on the inside. It was not very good.
When you think of small town family restaurants, this is the way they should be...The new owner have give this place what it needed. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere with good service. The food is really good also. I had their Reuben sandwich with fries which was delicious. I finished the meal off with a strawberry sundae made with chocolate ice cream. What a great experience - I would say give the a try...
Delicious French Toast. Friendly staff & reasonable prices. I would definitely eat here again if I was passing through town.
Long wait times for the food to arrive, make sure you have the time to wait. We tried to eat breakfast on 6/19, after 50 minutes, we still did not have our breakfast. Looking around the room neither did anyone else. Then the table next to us, who ordered after we did, received their order and it was completely wrong. The waitress took it back to the kitchen, the chef began to recook their order. We did leave without eating, as we had an appointment and could not wait any longer. We paid for our drinks and tipped our waitress. We definitely noticed the freshly cleaned and painted interior. We will try to have breakfast here again in a few months.
Great entree choices, delicious food and friendly, polite staff. Highly recommend and best in town!

Yikes. Wasn't sure what to expect but the food left a lot to be desired. The eggs were over cooked and the potatoes were soggy. Small portions. The staff was super friendly and attentive so that's why it got two stars.
Love supporting local businesses. Went to breakfast here. Was crowded but several tables had just left. We stood at door with no one greeting us for at least five minutes. Then we’re told to sit at a table that was just cleared but not wiped down. It took 10 minutes or so to get our order and waitress still didn’t greet us just said “what can I get for you” - and after an hour - having sat for 30 mins with empty drinks and others who came in after us getting their food and ours no where in site we finally left. Won’t likely go back as there were dead flies in the window sills - kitchen staff with no hair ties or hats and young children handling food, drinks and dishes.
Food was good but was not greeted initially. Told to seat ourselves. Sat at a dirty table (they were all dirty), young girl came up to get our drink order and wasn’t going to clean our table. Had to ask her for a towel. She cleaned the table, got our drink orders but didn’t introduce herself to us at all. Couldn’t tell you her name. I asked if the chicken was crispy or grilled, couldn’t even tell me. I said crispy if you have it. Then the person cooking had to come ask me if I wanted crispy or grilled. No one is happy to be here. Very rude and short staff. They don’t even talk to each other. Didn’t offer refills, napkins or silverware. Gave us the bill and didn’t even say thank you, come again, whatever. Won’t be back.
This restaurant used to be an excellent place to get breakfast or lunch. But since it has been under new management it has gone straight down hill. They do brew their iced tea but that is all that I can say positive about it. Their serving sizes are small and expensive. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and watched the cook take the chicken from the freezer about 10 minutes after I placed my order. When I finally received my order over 30 minutes later, the salad was served in a WARM bowl. One of our group ordered the double cheese burger and the patties were almost raw and barely warm. The BLT was not great. The slice of tomato was small, sparse amount of lettuce, the bacon was over cooked, and it wasn’t cut in half. I will not be returning. (1 July 22)
Hashbrowns should be brown and crispy not white and beige. Omelette shouldn’t have a brown skin from being burned. No excuse for old bread coming out his toast in front in particular Rye. These little things are going to add up to non-return visits.
