Love, love, love this little place! The owner is a king of hospitality and customer service! The food was top-notch! The Italian Wedding Soup (Frank gave us a sample) was amazing, although we only tried a taste. If we get back to the area, we will definitely return for more of Frank & Mimi's specialties. We come to Kirtland periodically but have never eaten at Down the Block. That will NEVER happen again! We will always take the opportunity to eat here. I love to order Calzone's, but I have never had one as good as this one! Most calzones are packed full of air but this one was packed full of meat and cheese. And the Italian sausage is home made and VERY flavorful. A Huge 5 stars!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced at a restaurant..and I'm 60 years old ! They have no idea how real restaurants work, as they are "in the weeds" if they get more than 2 customers. My order was not prepared correctly, after ordering directly with the owner. When I called the restaurant to express my disappointment, one of the owners hung up on me TWICE! I had to drive back there. I told them that after 3 days of hospitalization, this was my 82 year old mom's first choice of places to eat-- and the food was horrible. The owner's response was, "There's a restaurant that way up the road, and this way up the road..." I was appalled at their horrible, argumentative attitude, especially after the owner assured me my order would be correct. This place is overpriced and dysfunctional. The husband of the owner is always angry and yelling at the employees. Good thing I have the whole ordeal audio recorded, and pictures of the food, so he can't deny how unprofessional and rude he was.

We ordered 4 different things plus 3 different sides and they were all delicious! The customer service was amazing. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and ate. I would highly recommend eating here.
I was so excited to order my mom's favorite meal from this place, after she hadn't eaten much during a hospital stay for 3 days. I had a specific conversation with the owner. to communicate my not-so-special instructions. It turns out the the owner's husband gets IRATE if you have a special request. Then, they'll LIE to you about their food service license only allowing them to sell well done dried up burgers. I have managed large steakhouses. and can say with 100% authority that is a huge lie--- it's just *EASIER* for them...So I called back to let them know that my order was incorrect, and the owner yelled at me and hung the phone up. He also tried to blame the young man that works there. He
has anger issues and causes his wife to cower in fear. Sad and shameful. NEVER AGAIN!
