Not quite as good as Penn Station, but you get a bit more here too. For the same price as a medium cheese steak with small fry and drink at Penn Station I was able to get a medium cheese steak with loaded fries and a large drink at Charley's. The steak and other ingredient quality wasn't quite as good at Charley's but it was good still. I wouldn't say they're "#1" Maybe #3 out of 5.

I agree with some of the other reviews as far as the deception of amount of meat on a Philly cheese steak. In my experience Phillys are made with meat cheese on bottom with tomato and lettuce on top. They put the meat on top which does give a deceptive appearance. Taste was ok, but nothing special. Bread could stand to be toasted better. I thought the fries were good. Cooked to order and a nice crisp taste. Staff was friendly. 3 stars means avg experience to me. Not great, but...
