Service and food was great. I would just like to know the next time I substitute something that's it's going to charge me extra. I just thought it was a little rude of my server to offer to replace something but not tell me it's going to cost more

This place is beautiful. Very nice atmosphere reminiscent of a hunting lodge out west. Delicious food. Tons of whiskey to choose from. The food is top notch. Ribeye with horseradish crust, ny strip with bleu cheese crust, cheese curds, brussel sprouts... all fantastic. It is a bit pricey...but for the quality of the food, and the service, its worth it.

Definitely try the Sriracha ranch... phenomenal

Had dinner at Butcher Block and it really hit the spot. Steak was cooked just how I asked, juicy with good flavor, and the sides tasted fresh, not out of a box. Place felt clean and relaxed, and the staff checked on us without hovering. Prices were fair for the quality you get. I would gladly come back here for a good hearty meal

Our go-to for a very nice lunch or dinner. Service is good as well as friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. A steak house with wonderful crab cakes. Variety of vegetables fresh and tasty and bar has excellent selections especially bourbon. Good value for money. Nice Western lodge atmosphere. Inside and outside seating. Just ate there again and consistently good. Crab cakes are excellent.

Off the charts...! We ordered three Flying Tomahawks, sides, etc., and everything was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious! The service was beyond anything I have experienced in many years. Our server, Nevaeh, was amazing! We will (all) be returning to start working our way through the menu... Thank you to everyone at the Butcher Block!

Great service, good appetizers, good bread basket, prime rib and filet were flavorless.....way too many flies, to the point of interrupting our dinner so many times just to keep them off our food.

this was our first time at this restaurant and it will not be our last. we were a little intimidated because it might be too fancy for us because we've been out all day and we're just in our shorts and t-shirts but we are very comfortable once we got in there. the waitress, Ella, was an absolute delight, super friendly and helpful. our food was served very quickly. we had several appetizers including the deviled eggs, lobster bisque, cheese curds, and alligator bites. all of it was delicious. as for entrees we tried the salmon Florentine which might be one of the best dishes I've ever had. my brother had the shrimp tacos and loved them and said there was a lot of fresh cilantro on there. my daughter really enjoyed her Caesar salad with chicken. and we could not leave without trying dessert so we had creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and red velvet cheesecake. everything was brought to our table very quickly and we ate every bite of it because it was so good. we will definitely be returning to this restaurant. on top of the fact that the food and service were excellent, the restaurant itself is gorgeous with great decor and nice eating spaces indoors and out. it is well taken care of and well staffed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We are from out of town coming back from vacation in Hocking Hills. Stopped for lunch and drinks. Had a great meal of the chef's feature, Halibut. The drinks, food and atmosphere was amazing. The best part was our waitress, Taylor. She was so much fun and knowledgeable of the menu. We plan on coming back for a day trip. Thank you for a great experience 😊

If you have food allergies — especially celiac — skip Butcher Block and save yourself the stress. When I asked about gluten-free options, the staff looked at me like I was speaking another language. Zero understanding of cross-contamination or basic allergy safety, which is honestly dangerous in a restaurant setting. When I tried to explain, I was met with eye rolls and rushed answers, like I was being difficult just for asking.

The servers were rude, impatient, and clearly not interested in helping. It felt more like a chore for them to take our order than part of their job. The food was fine, nothing special, but it’s hard to enjoy a meal when you’re worried about getting sick and treated like a burden.

If you’re looking for a place that’s allergy-aware, welcoming, or just… polite? This isn’t it. But hey, if you like mid food and side eye with your entrée — this might be your place.

Really nice steakhouse in a smaller town. The melted marshmallow martini is worth the trip by itself.
