Can’t rate the atmosphere. I only have ordered take out. Very friendly and speedy service. Food was great and prepared to my specifications. 5 for 5 on good food and good service - deserves five stars.

Was looking for a new Mexican restaurant in the area I've been to a few now, as I walked in there was one server and one cook, if you've read any of my reviews you'll know when I go to a restaurant I hope for it to be culture based.. whenever it's a culture food that is... I was almost sad when the waitress was American like myself.. then I smelt the food... I was more than impressed with the food. It's still on my mind today.. I love a good Mexican meal and El Palenque most definitely followed through with and incredible meal. Gracias amigo.... Gracias

El Palenque's are my favorite Mexican restaurants around.... They have the best chefs especially Felix at Lowell, Ohio location... Mcconnelsville, Ohio location is very good also.. I haven't tried the Duncan Falls location but I'm looking forward to it..The servers are great!!!
Vegetarian options: There are options on their menus I am not sure exactly what they are ....
Kid-friendliness: They have seats for children and a special menu for the little ones... The servers are very good at relating with young children....
Wheelchair accessibility: They have a nice wheelchair ramp

El Palenque is the best and only restaurant in Lowell. When you go in you are sat down quickly. You are brought salsa and chips that are delicious. The food is made quickly. The waitress/waiter check on you frequently. The handsome busboy does a great job of cleaning up the tables. The entire staff is friendly and professional. The whole restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and very clean. I highly recommend El Palenque!

El Palenque is located in a historic building with a great history. The building seems small, but it can easily seat 35, which makes it perfect for small gatherings or parties.There is plenty of parking. The parking lot in front of the building can hold 6 or so vehicles. There is also a section across the road that can easily hold many more vehicles. The section across the road is also perfect for a trucker or two to pull off and grab something to eat.The restaurant is nicely decorated, well organized, and always clean. In my visits there, it appears that everyone is always greeted warmly when they walk in and are seated quickly. Customers are brought warm chips and fresh salsa right away along with their drink order.The staff - waitresses/waiters, busser, manager, chef, and owner - have always been friendly and have always provided excellent service. It has been a long time since I've encountered a restaurant with a staff as excellent and friendly as this.The menu has a lot of options that are all reasonably priced. Every meal has been great. The portions are large. The food is always delicious and made with fresh ingredients.If you're not wanting to sit down and eat at the restaurant, they also have a drive-thru.El Palenque is a great restaurant in a great village. I highly recommend it!

It was not as good as everyone said it was, to be honest the portions are much smaller that las trancas in Marietta and the meals here are more expensive than there... It was ok food for the most part but it's not a place I will drive 40 minutes to eat again, they kinda messed up three of our parties meals but other than that it was ok... Not good and not terrible.
Parking: Bad spot for a restaurant, when we got there the parking lot had 5 cars in it and it was full, we had to wait for someone to leave before parking. Bad parking situation all together.
