This was really really good pizza. Like really good. The wait staff was attentive and the owner came to visit as well and asked if we were ok. We also got the fried rice balls which were recommended...and were awesome. We loved the place. We watched the Indians play on the big screen and listened to non obnoxious music. Yess!
Great place, great food, great people. One of the best local spots

Abo’s Grill has been our family’s go-to Italian spot for years. It’s one of those places you throw out when deciding where to go and everyone, including the young kids, is instantly on board. The food has a homemade feel across the menu, with quality and uniqueness that’s pleasantly surprising and hard to find. The arancini and meatballs are great and their pizza is hands down my favorite in town.
It’s family run and it shows. The service is great, and the owner always makes a point to stop by the table, say hello, and even bring the kids pizzelles. We miss living nearby but we always stop in when we’re in the area (and find excuses to be in the area).

Abo’s is the perfect home away from. The environment is so welcoming and the food is to die for. From the pasta dishes to my favorite, lemon balsamic ricotta appetizer, all of it well worth a visit!

So I'm a little conflicted with this one. We went Tuesday evening for my nieces birthday. Our waiter was kind and attentive. The music was great as well. My nephew accidentally knocked over a cup and they quickly cleaned it up and let us know it was okay.
I ordered eggplant parm and the salmon dish. Both meals were essentially good (I finished both), but for those who need to know, the eggplant was a bit on the thin side. So much so that when I cut it to get a forkfull I couldn't distinguish between the breading and the eggplant. However, the breading was crispy enough to be enjoyable and the pasta was tasty 7/10.
The salmon dish was delicious it was a nice sized piece of salmon, but the mash could have looked better (looked dry and lumpy) but it tasted really good. It came with maybe 6 pieces of carrots that were not yet al dente nor were they seasoned, but alas I finished and was happy. Another 7/10
There is alot of positive and we actually planned to come back in the future. However, my sister and law and brother ordered pizza, chicken Alfredo, burger, salad and chicken wings. They enjoyed everything, but the chicken wings. During the service the manager was told that the chicken has a funny smell. He assured her they just got fresh chicken yesterday. She reiterated that she was not comfortable eating it and didn't want a replacement as she was off put and wasn't feeling well. Again she ate one wing if that.
At the end of the service the manager refused to take off $11 wings because it went against their policy. I've read several reviews from this establishment that echoed the same experience. I understand thinking people are trying to cheat you, but this was not the case and we had purchased more than $200 worth of food. Eventually, after legit 5 minutes of back and fourth, the owner took the cake charge off to appease us. So as prior business owners ourselves it didn't make sense to put the customer through the back and forth to begin with. So I hate to say it I don't think we will be back.
So overall 3 stars because it is a nice place and they seemed like nice people, but beware if you are particular about your good.

Tried Abo’s Grill for the first time (take out) and… whew. Let me just say my taste buds are still waiting for the flavor to show up like it’s stuck in traffic.
I got a large pepperoni pizza and the breaded cheese wedges. The cheese wedges tasted like air wearing a breadcrumb coat. The marinara was so subtle I had to double-check if it was actually sauce or just red-colored water.
Then the pizza… dry. Dry like “I need a cup of water just to swallow this bite” dry. For $30, I expected at least a hint of flavor, maybe even a spark of joy. Instead I got sadness in a circle.
Honestly, I can go to plenty of other pizza spots and get actual taste for the same price.
Abo’s Grill, I wanted to love you — but my dinner said “nope.”

Nestled on Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst, Ohio, Abo’s Grill is the kind of place where each dish feels like it was cooked in Nonna’s kitchen — hearty, honest, and full of flavor. The restaurant’s story begins when owner Joe Abounader (alongside his family) secured a vacant lot and built Abo’s from the ground up, intentionally crafting a space with late-night visitors in mind.
The setting is inviting: a large three-sided bar, a dedicated take-out entrance for quick pickups, and a back patio for warmer days. But what truly defines Abo’s is the food — rooted in southern Italian tradition (think Campobasso-style homemade sauce, meatballs made from a trio of beef, veal and pork, and lasagna with layers of beef and pork).
Highlights worth savoring:
• The homemade sauce, built off fresh tomatoes, bursts with that immediate bright tomato flavor you expect when things are made from scratch.
• Meatballs with beef, veal and pork — moist, seasoned, and served with shaved Parmesan.
• The lasagna? Gooey, cheesy, meaty, wonderfully over-the-top in size and texture — tender inside, lightly crusty on top.
• Arancini balls: house-breaded, crisp outside, molten rice/cheese inside, topped with a balsamic drizzle — irresistible.
• Cannolis: from crisp shells to creamy filling, they finish the meal on a sweet and authentic note.
• Gluten-free diners take note: the pasta consistency here is surprisingly on point.
Every visit feels like a celebration of food, family and tradition. Whether you’re dining in or ordering for catering (yes, they cater too) this is a place that shows culinary care at every turn.

Abo’s Grill in Lyndhurst — authentic, delicious, and worthy of becoming your new favorite Italian spot in Cleveland’s east-side suburbs.

A true hidden gem! If you love authentic, home-made Italian food, then you need to visit Abo's Grill.
Nonna's lasagna with fresh, home-made noodles is outstanding. Home-made lemon-honey ricotta with warm bread is off the hook! The Cavalli with home-made sausage meatballs is delicious!
The staff are so friendly, patient, and attentive.
Get in your car and drive to Abo's for dinner - you won't regret it!😋😋😋

I was excited to order from Abo's as it was one of my fathers favorite & we haven't had it since he passed away , so we gave it a try & the food was average but what was really weird is that I ordered a kids pasta ($10.00) I sub Alfredo sauce instead of marinara since my son doesn't like red sauce . It was a very small portion and I was charged another $8.00 2 days later . When I called to inquire they told me since it was Alfredo it is the same price as the regular entree price . So $18 for a small portion of Alfredo..beware
Service is laughable. Was yelled at for trying to order an appetizer with our drinks. Then the app came out 30 seconds before the entrees. Food is mid. Think Fazoli's or Sbarro. Nice dining room. Tables are too wide.
Go to OG instead.
