Well up and down. The salsa was 90% water, no tomatoes literally at all. Service was terrible, down right terrible, maybe the worst I have ever had. Then came the Fajitas! The best I have ever had.

I was hesitant to even walk in when I saw the empty parking lot, and turns out my gut was right. I’m not usually big on Mexican food, but I figured I’d give Chuy’s a shot. Big mistake. I ordered the shrimp tacos with refried beans, and the whole plate was just flat — no flavor, no kick, nothing memorable. Honestly felt like food on autopilot. The only saving grace was the server, who was fine, but service can only do so much when the kitchen drops the ball. Safe to say I won’t be coming back.

Visited this weekend and we were very happy with our server/bartender Hunter! He was on top of things, handled our substitutions easily, and pleasant to talk to. Food was pretty decent, the tortilla on the burrito was weirdly hard or overcooked on the edges which made it hard to cut. But overall a good experience and fun casual atmosphere!

Our waiter was great! The food was not. We were hoping for tex mex food. This was like midwest version of tex mex. The chicken was cubes (not shredded), very little flavor. It seems like a decent restaurant if you want to bring your kids but not a place I would go if I wanted good food.
