A Disappointing Experience at GRC Winery

I had the unfortunate experience of attending a "Grinch Event" at GRC Winery with a group of others, expecting a pleasant evening, but it quickly turned into a series of frustrations. The menu clearly advertised a "French Dip," but what we received was far from what we anticipated. Instead of the classic French Dip sandwich, we were served what appeared to be a poorly executed burger-like creation that lacked flavor. After just one small bite, I decided to ask the waitress if I could have it removed from my bill, as I was no longer interested in eating it.

When she returned, I was informed that the manager had refused to accommodate the request. What was even more disheartening was that the manager did not have the decency to address the situation personally. Instead, he left it to the waitress to deliver the disappointing news. The lack of professionalism and empathy was striking.

As the night continued, we discussed contacting the owner about the poor experience. Little did we know, the owner was actually on-site that evening and was one of the individuals responsible for the refusal to address our concerns. Like the manager, the owner chose to hide behind the staff rather than take responsibility or engage with customers directly.

While I understand that every business may face challenges, the way GRC Winery handled this situation was unacceptable. The staff, including the owner and manager, failed to demonstrate even the most basic level of customer care. In an economy where prices are rising and consumers have more choices than ever, establishments that disregard customer satisfaction will ultimately pay the price for their neglect.

The winery itself is beautiful, but its management's inability to handle customer issues with professionalism and respect will likely hurt them in the long run. It's a shame that such a nice venue is tarnished by poor service and a lack of accountability.

Awesome customer service and atmosphere - but the food is not worth the cost. I ordered the Roasted Red Pepper pasta with chicken. The chicken was good (I honestly think it was from a premade package), but the entire meal had no taste! I would not worth $25 and would not recommend it at all!

My wife and I did a few wineries tonight. Grand River was our second stop. Their main dining area is really nice and comfortable. Unfortunately we got stuck in the back area. The flatbread pizza made up for any lack of ambiance. It was the best I’ve ever had. It was mushroom, arugula, and prosciutto.

My wife ordered a salad. The portion was nice and loaded with goodies. I thought the whole ordering process was a little strange as we stood at the wine bar to order our wine and food then given a number to a table. The Chardonnay I had was pretty good but not worth the $12.

We will definitely return in the summer for another go.

Second time here but under very different circumstances... Last time was July and we got drinks and dessert and heard a band on the patio. Today we had a family lunch inside watching the snow fall. I tried to get my husband to just leave me there. The food was delicious, drinks were awesome, service friendly, and the ambiance warmed my soul. They have taken the Christmas spirit to 1000% and it just made my day.

This winery is our family's favorite. Decked out in all its Grinchy glory, it is a beautiful site. Totally out did all my expectations! Food is great and the drinks are even better.

On Saturday, October 19th our group stopped by your winery. We were treated very rudely starting with your hostess and it continued with other staff. We were told we would have to be seated outside away from the building. After our group’s hostess put her foot down and asked why when there’s numerous tables available inside? Not only will I never visit your winery again. If I know of anyone visiting Geneva for a tour the wineries, I will be sure to tell them of your employees rudeness and how unwelcome we were made to feel. If I was able give you a ZERO I would.

I see some negative reviews which surprises me. We have been going there the last couple of years, and have never had any problems. We were in about 3 weeks ago with a party of 10. The waitress, and other waitresses were very accommodating. The atmosphere very nice, especially outside in better weather. The food excellent, and prices about where they should be as far as my wife and I are concerned. Definitely recommend this restaurant. My wife said not to forget great for all ages, and a great wine list .

One of the wineries in wine country. They are usually on one of the many trails. I have been here a few times, and honestly, in the beginning, I didn't care for it, but it grew on me, and my experiences got better every time. Their food is very good and they have a large selection of wines. There is an outside patio, very pretty in the fall. Unlike many other wineries, you wait to be seated, and some will wait on you. I think this one of the reasons they stand out. There is plenty of parking. I definitely recommend checking them out.

I always enjoy the Grand River especially the ambiance, wine and sangria. However, I am seeing recent posts here and on Yelp from repeat customers disappointed by quality and service. I too felt my last two visits this summer were off, but do not like to post negative reviews. I am hopeful the issues being discussed are addressed and the Grand River can continue as a quality Winery with value dining.

Best regards as I look forward to my next visit to restore my 5 star rating and hopefully once again enjoy the fall sangria with the actual cinnamon stick instead recent usage of a powder cinnamon.
