Partner made a reservation for 3 people for Grinchmas. Partner called before the reservation and asked if we could possibly do 4 people instead of 3 for the reservation. The lady on the phone said, “Absolutely Not!” To our surprise we arrive on time for the reservation and it’s a table of 4 with an empty seat. Ok not a huge deal but don’t be rude over the phone when you could accommodate another person. We ordered a margarita pizza and the waitress even mentioned that a pizza would take longer to cook than other appetizers. The margarita pizza never arrived which wasn’t a big deal. Reservation was at 4:30 p.m. We gave our credit cards to the waitress at 6:25 p.m. once we finished eating. At 6:30 p.m. the hostess who had braces on her teeth came to our table and said we needed to leave. Well dumb dumb, your waitress had our credit cards and hadn’t finished cashing us out yet. Good food, good drinks, employees don’t communicate enough for a smooth operation. The waitress was amazing but the hostess was extremely rude.

The transformation of the winery into the Grinchmas Bar for the holidays is magical! Food was great and service top notch!

We were so pleased with our experience there on 11/30 for our party of 19. One server did remarkable!!! Food, wine, quiet but fun space, just helpfulness of the staff was such a blessing for us!!! Can’t thank them enough❤️

Grand River Cellars outdid theirselves with the Grinchmas Bar. I had a great time! the drinks were great, the food good and the atmosphere was great also!!!

Stopped at Grand River winery for a couple of samples of there wines. The waitress was very helpful in selecting wines. We also ordered cheese cake and the waitress put a candle in it to celebrate my birthday. The place was over the top with holiday decorations, almost to much.

We came in from out of town and had so many locals recommend this place to us. Legitimately we went to 3 different businesses in Geneva and every single one had locals that recommended this place. We were told how it’s this beautiful winery back in the woods with fantastic food and atmosphere. We were so excited to try it.
Showed up at 4:00 with the intention of getting a wine tasting and maybe a few appetizers that were recommended to us.
The first person we meet was the hostess who could not have been more rude and miserable. Essentially told us that she didn’t know if she could seat us without a reservation. Being as we were one group of less than 10, that felt odd, especially with a dining room with not a single guest seated.
Finally got a table but the service was exceptionally slow. When we were told the hostess would be bringing us water, it was no shock to anyone that it never came. Didn’t even order food because by this point it was abundantly clear we wanted to try wine a get going to literally anywhere else.
With just ordering wine flights it took us over an hour to have our order taken, get the 2 flights, and to pay and leave.
Upon leaving there was still not a soul inside and only one other party had been seated.
Based on other reviews this experience isn’t an anomaly. Being met with immediate rudeness just puts a bad taste in your mouth for the rest of the experience. There are SO many better wineries with better wine and kind people working around the area.

I'm here right now. I've been here for over 2 hours... Took an hour to even get out first drink and put in our food order. Still haven't gotten our food. At this point I don't care how good it is, I can't give it less than 1 star. Some folks in our group who have been here before attest that this is not uncommon. The ambiance is nice, but they need to either seat less people or hire more servers. This is BS

We planned a surprise birthday party in the wine cellar - and it was the perfect setting for a wonderful dinner party! The room was nice and secluded and we had the full attention of our amazing waiter- Erik!
The drink menu was available to us as well as an absolutely delicious selection of appetizers and entrees.
The room was so easy to book and the GRC team was extremely shift in their communication. Would absolutely book again - everyone loved it!!

I would give no stars if I could - my wife and I on our 10 year anniversary trip landed here at 6pm on a Saturday looking for wine and some Dinner - got turned away and told to come back at 7-730 as walk in we’re not being accepted at the time - we called back at 650pm to verify the coast was clear - hostess tells us we are great come on down - drove a half hour from Geneva on the Lake area, walk in - “let me see if I can get a server to take your table” - “We have a server but it will be over 1.5 hours before you will get food” - after my wife expressed we called before we drove down here - all we got was a sorry then she picked up the phone and ignored us…….love Grand Rivers Valley and Ohio wine country - Grand River Cellars will not be off our visit list permanently.
