These folks passionately know wine making and we enjoy talking to them. We learn something everytime we go. Their wine is very very good. They have won many awards! The property and house are very clean and nice. We love coming here. Its quiet and very serene property and we love sitting outside in the woods and being in the vineyards. Inside is very nice and has plenty of seating.
Such a fun property, tastings are a $1, wine is fantastic!
Wonderful winery! Great red wines, great people running the winery. Very nice building. Had an amazing experience thank you. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be back and will recommend this winery to anyone interested in great affordable red wines looking for a one on one experience while tasting them.
Very good wine and selection. They also have gnomes made out of wine bottles so cute . Reasonable price for the gnomes. The host was so polite and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
We stayed the night in their parking lot. Smaller than expected.
In my book, every wine here is award winning!
August 2025 update
Same as last year, only more so!
If you're a newbie to tasting wine, Eric is your man. He will guide you through your tasting and help you discover what you like, because your palate is yours alone. You can either learn about your palate on inferior wine, or you can do that with the wines of Silver Crest.
Lovely spot which seems like a world away ! What a friendly and welcoming space! First stop for our Maine journey and Silver Crest Cellars were so communicative and flexible!! Their wine is so good too!!!! Bottles are priced very fair for the quality !!
Please stop - it’s quaint, quiet and peaceful!
This is an Ohio winery, but it does NOT drink like it is! I hate to say I’m snooty about wine, but I am. This place is everything I’ve ever wanted out of an Ohio winery. The Cab Franc made me emotional - Literally! The Rosé is old world style, and hits. The Cabernet Sauvignon (particularly the Schubert-Ferney) is old world style, and splendid! This is, hands down, my favorite winery.
Great spot for dry red wine lovers. The staff takes time to understand your tastes and offers $1 samples in real wine glasses. Wines are well-priced, and there's no corking fee if you drink on-site. A relaxed, welcoming place with great service and quality reds. We also loved their half dry Riesling!
A lovely little winery in the heart of the Grand River Valley! Silver Crest is our go-to for Cabernet Franc. They have plenty of tables and seating and a menu of light snacks and pairings.

Great atmosphere, award winning wines made by hard-working, knowledgeable people, small business making worldwide impact!
Hidden gem, beautiful red wines and fantastic location. Vintners, Eric we spoke with, are lovely and a great little river walk nearby. Perfect location for a family event with indoor and.outdoor seating..
I liked it. ? The owner is great to talk to. Well traveled and wonderful wine knowledge of this unusual region in Ohio. He will also provide excellent directions for arrival and parking in advance??
Their wines are flavorful.?
They have a nice space upstairs for large groups and events
And you have the option of leaving with a full bottle, or an empty bottle made into a Gnome! Or both!
They are adorable ?
This winery is one of my favorite in this area. We always have wonderful service and we love sitting under the trees. My favorite is the Gewürztraminer.
Excellent red wines (especially compared to some others in the area) and at very fair prices. Lots of great wine with varied tastes depending on your preference.
Wonderful service and a nice atmosphere. If we lived closer we would come here all the time. Would absolutely recommend.
