Shakes used to be great .. don't know what has changed but do not taste the same. They also got a lot smaller. Food was greasy and got thrown away. Won't be going back.

One thing I've started to notice here is the wait times can be ridiculous at times. Today I decided to stop in for lunch and it took over 30 minutes to get my food. They forgot my shake and the sauce I asked for which took another five minutes. Service was lousy none of the workers had good attitudes. They literally locked the doors at one point. I felt bad when I left because there was still people waiting that had gotten there before me.
Please stop ordering from this place on doordash. Orders are never ready .. you spend anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour waiting for an order. So basically your stuck for an hour to make $4. Staff not trained. Manager is on cell phone. You even have to request they put a receipt on the order after it's finally made which takes them another 15 mins. They are disrespectful to customers and dashers. Customers standing at the counter and they have to ask someone to take their order.

What happened to my favorite Steak n Shake? Are they all like this now? Steak and Shake used to be my favorite place to get a Smashburger. But in the last couple years every Steak and Shake I go to is pretty much self-service and is nothing like it used to be. On Google it says it's open at 10:00 a.m. I got there at 10:30 and was told they wouldn't even start cooking until 11:00am. So long Steak n Shake, it was great for a long time.

First off the gentleman that was working. The window had no personality whatsoever. I had to ask for all my condiments. Thank you. I got a chili. I didn't need to ask for a spoon. I did not get no sphone. How nah can you eat chili without a spoon? The person working the window does not need to be working the window.That's all I have to say I will not go back

Bathroom is absolutely disgusting with zero soap. We asked for a pop lid and management asked me to stock the rest! Bread sitting on the floor! Everything is dirty and clearly no one cares.
COVID killed the fun steak n shake atmosphere. No wait staff or season salt at tables instead you order at a kiosk. Well I guess it's better than sitting outside on a picnic table like during COVID.

Took 15 minutes to get fries and a few shakes. While we were waiting I watched one of the staff watching Netflix on his phone propped up in the open lid of the meat freezer. Watched him touch his phone a few times with his gloves on, then start a meat order. Glad I just had fries. Though I did finally have to walk back into the kitchen to ask for them since there was no one up front and it had been 15 minutes waiting on the fries. Then my wife's shake was nice and full, with a reasonable amount of whipped cream on it, but the top 2 inches of my cup was nothing but whipped cream.

Worked at this location 20 years ago, and was a nice throwback hardly much has changed but food quality and customer service have gone down hill. Burger was a soggy - bun super soft, if I remember right these used to get toasted. Fries were undercooked. And literally zero humans present in the ordering process for dine in or carry out. Also noticed they no longer do salads. Positive note the hamburger is a level above most fast food places.

Visited the store 01/01/2025, The butter burger was good, but the guy cooking the hamburgers was witnessed coughing over the grill without covering his mouth several times! He also should NOT be the front guy for Customer Service because he has a piss poor attitude! But they won’t have to ever worry about us visiting the Marion store anymore!

Food is as good as I remember, it's been awhile, but there's absolutely no interaction with staff anymore. Everything is done by kiosk now. All the staff was wearing earbuds and made them difficult to get their attention I'd anything was wrong.
Kid-friendliness: Open atmosphere and a favorite place to eat with our kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: First floor with parking, ramps and plenty of space between tables.
