I went into Whits on the 28th about 2pm. There were people in line and only one associate working. She was taking orders, making their orders and filling the machines. When it was my turn I asked her if she was alone in the store...she said yes, she had been alone since 10am. Cool old building, custard and whitty's are good, but the staff is seemingly not trained well. Whitsers have toppings in the top half and none in the bottom. I have had about a 10% order failure rate due to poor communication register to back and back to handing out. I have gotten someone else's order that they said was mine and others have gotten mine. The ice cream is nothing special but glad it is here. I'd avoid the ice cream sandwiches they have in the front as they are stored too cold and use the wrong type of cookies so they are impossible to eat. They start as hard as a rock, especially the ones with the chocolate cookies, and then warm up into a mushy mess as the cookie doesn't have any structure and is too dense so your fingers go straight through into the ice cream.
