Joella's Hot Chicken - Mason

What happened? Joella's was my fav place for hot chicken, but if you take away both the green beans and the collard greens as sides, it is just an ordinary fast food chain with horrible side choices. My last takeout there in November '24 was awful. Please, bring back the good and healthier option sides.

Chicken tenders were great! But boy nuggets were soggy and some of the lowest quality meat I've had. Banana pudding the simplest and most generic I've ever had. Fries cold and hard. I really love the atmosphere, beautiful and clean (except the bathroom, really nasty)... But the price for this low quality food is really bad. First time, last time

Been going here to 4+ years. The food is fantastic and distinct from your average chicken tenders restaurant.

Dietary restrictions: Have a peanut allergy, never had any issues whatsoever.

The prices are hilarious. The chicken is juicy and decent, but the spice isn't nashville hot. Hattie B's in Nashville is soo much better and $12.50 for 3 tenders and two sides. This place is close to that price for 3 tenders, no sides. Also, spice wise, Joella's hot is like Hattie's mild. I won't be back.

Great food, Great service

Carry-out order was disappointing, chicken was not warm and has a tough texture. Definitely not cooked to order. Flavors were good, like the ghost pepper heat. No collard greens here but still on the online menu. Maybe try it again, probably not.

I work in customer service and unfortunately, I'm super disappointed in the customer service at Joella's. The main guy working at the front (early 40s) had a really poor attitude and seemed really annoyed to even be helping people or even taking orders. I witnessed him be super passive aggressive and quite rude to another customer as well. He may have been understaffed, which I understand may have made him frustrated, but to take it out on the customers is appalling. The food was good, but I'm so sad that I don't want to return just because of the bad vibes.

I used to order from here quite a bit. The tenders used to come with a side, now it costs an extra $4 for a side and a drink. Unless it goes back I will not be ordering from here again.

Tonight an employee rudely asked “Are you stupid or something?” for a customer accidentally walking on the floor she was mopping. That is unacceptable. We’re human and we make mistakes. Management should take care of this - shorter older woman that was working there 11/24 around 8:00pm. Do better!
