Beer Barrel Pizza and Grill

Went in with some friends. I live in Michigan and have a Michigan ID. My friends who are the same age as me all live in Ohio. The waitress looked confused when she looked at my ID and claimed it was fake, but didn’t think my friends’ IDs were fake. She also told us they’ve refused service to other out of state people, such as an individual with an Illinois ID. If you don’t live in Ohio and you’re visiting, don’t expect to be able to order any alcohol.

The food was overpriced and disappointing my meatball sub had two meatballs cut in half to make a whole sub. Save your money go someplace else

Every time I've gone to Beer Barrel (whether this specific location or a different one) the food has been tasty and fairly-priced.

When I went today, the waitress (I feel bad that I forget her name since she deserves a shout-out!) was extremely attentive to our group and she made sure our waters were topped-off before we could even ask. However, waiters/waitresses from past visits were not as attentive. To be fair, today's waitress set a high standard ^_^

For today's visit I ordered a Reuben sandwich. It was quite tasty, but I do wish there would have been more sauerkraut. Other people in our group also noticed their orders were light on the sauerkraut, so if you're big sauerkraut fans (like us) then you may want to ask for extra. All-in-all I think everyone enjoyed the food they ordered. No one's order was wrong or cold or anything like that, and everyone's food came out at one time. In past visits the food has always been acceptable and enjoyable, but rarely does it exceed my expectations.

The restaurant atmosphere is exactly as you'd expect based off the name. There are plenty of wooden decorations (including big beer barrels) as well as a few metallic accents to the atmosphere to draw out that "pub" feel. However, unlike some pub-style restaraunts, Beer Barrel has never been rowdy or anywhere that I'd feel uncomfortable taking kids. It is definitely a dining experience that welcomes the whole family!

All-in-all, Beer Barrel is an enjoyable establishment with a diverse menu (and drink menu) to choose from. I'd recommend giving it a try sometime if you haven't!

Parking: This restaraunt is located at an outdoor mall. There is plenty of parking at the mall, but you may have to walk a slightly longer distance than you would for a restaraunt with its own dedicated parking lot.

Kid-friendliness: If you dislike your kids being in an atmosphere where alcohol may be present, then this may not be your first choice. Other than that, I'd consider this restaraunt to be very kid-friendly. It isn't quaint or quiet, but it isn't rowdy or out-of-control in any way. It is really a pizza grill first and foremost, with the pub-style taking a backseat. There are TVs on the walls that show sports like baseball or football, and I did not see anything that could be considered indecent on any of the televisions. There are plenty of menu options, so there's a solid chance that the kiddos will find something they like (even if that ends up just being cheese pizza). My group was all adults with the exception of one teenager, so I'm not sure if they offer kid-specific menus (with crayons, etc.) or not.

The cheeseburgers were good, but don't bother with the onion ring appetizer - only nine paltry pieces for $8.99. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Saturday.

I recently rented the banquet room at the Beer Barrel for my twins' birthday party, and it was an ultimate success! The staff was ready to welcome us even though we arrived a bit early, and our attendant was exceptional, ensuring everyone’s glasses were full and spirits were high throughout the evening. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue for any celebration—five stars doesn’t do it justice!
