Clara J’s is a delightful and delicious place to have lunch, have tea or do some yoga. The utmost care is taken to provide fresh, seasonal, healthy and beautiful food made from scratch. The flavors are always on point and the servers take much care to ensure you have a lovely experience whether it’s your first time or you visit often. I absolutely love the latest renovations to a historic building in Maumee. The improvements have contributed to the overall neighborhood and community and shows the care the owner takes in all areas of this business. I cannot forget the attention to detail in providing environmentally friendly to go containers and if you love tea or want to try tea, bring in your own container and get some loose leaf tea. You can get as little as you want or fill a container to last you a while. I cannot say enough great things about this small, family owned business.

My visit was October 10th 2024. This place was unique and cute, the service was ok, the food and tea was ok but the owner was rude! She, in front of everyone, standing behind the register, passive aggressively called me out About a tip and me standing there with a two yr and 8 months pregnant Decided to take a deep breath before screaming discrimination for being a African-American Muslim. I honestly simply thought my friend That was accompanying me left a tip but I went ahead and left a tip without saying a word, feeling embarrassed and discriminated against.
If this is how you handle indifference with your customers, I can only imagine how you handle indifference with your employees.

Had my daughter’s bridal shower here. To say it was the easiest and nicest shower is an understatement. Everything was included and they had great fun food and service. Would do it again in a heart beat. I had another bridal shower for my daughter in law and we went somewhere else…..way more expensive and not nearly as nice. Highly recommend

A couple girlfriends and I decided to make reservations for proper tea at Clara J’s and we are so glad that we did! The building itself is nestled in a quiet little neighborhood and feels very cozy. Those same sentiments are echoed when you walk inside and are warmly welcomed by both the enthusiastic workers and thoughtfully-placed decor. For my first pot of tea, I enjoyed the milky oolong, which was fragrant and creamy. I was in heaven. My second pot was the London Fog, which may have been more aromatic than the first pot! Tea was served with sugar cubes, much to our delight. We were served the most amazing cinnamon raisin scones along with Devonshire cream, lemon curd, and strawberry jam. Afterward, a tiered tray with savory snacks and other treats arrived and those tasted just as good as they looked. The service was fantastic and there was a piano player in the room playing a variety of music for everyone to enjoy. It really added to the ambiance. Before we left, I couldn't help but purchase a few items to enjoy later and as gifts for others. I'm already planning my next trip back!

We had lunch here yesterday with the new spring menu and everything was amazing! First off there are so many varieties of tea to choose from! Then the menu and specials of the week were all sounding good so we decided to split two meals so we could each try a couple things. Both meals were delicious and filling. And don’t forget to have a scone while you’re here, you won’t regret it because they are amazing! We will for sure be coming back for lunch again!

The outside of the The house looks horrific it needs to be painted it looks very creepy and the food was OK but the staff was very rude this leaves me very disappointed in a depressing way it was a total rip off and receipt was very confusing do better Clara Jay

Atmosphere is so cozy and they have SO many tea flavors to choose from. Loved the gorgeous paintings and decor as well as the staff. Everyone was very friendly and you could tell enjoyed their job. Lunch was very good, too and dessert is a MUST.
A lovely place in old uptown Maumee. Very cute and appropriately decorated. Nice use of this old building with good food. As a soup lover, I especially appreciate what my next soup surprise might be. And the recent addition should really improve the kitchen. I will gladly meet friends and family there. Just let me know!

But the truth is everyone at Clara J’s knows me so it’s honestly like going to catch up with friends. The Tea Room has such a warm, inviting environment. And the food is always on point!
