I love an old school restaurant and bar for that matter. This place is both. We sat at the bar and was presented with an uncomplicated menu loaded with Claris American dishes. I had the ribeye steak, fries, corn on the cob with salad. My girlfriend has the ribs, with veggies, and baked potato. She was happy with her meal, the ribs have a nice sweet sauce, and a fantastic char to them( I tasted them) The hand cut fries were thick, and perfect for dipping, the corn was suprisenly sweet for being out of season. The star of the meal was my steak, cooked perfectly, thick and juicy. Just marvelous flavor. Waitstaff was prompt, attentive and friendly. I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat if your looking for a great steak dinner.

Great steak and ribs, nice soups and salads. It's a little dated inside, but the food is quite good and the service is prompt and professional.

Very disappointed. The spinach dip tasted like straight warm cream cheese. My blue cheese dressing for my salad was horseradish cream. The burger buns were burnt and did not have much flavor at all. My filet had no flavor and was dry even though I got medium rare. Worst food we ever spent $100 on.

The food is never cooked the same way twice. The cook always drinks on the job.sometimes the food never comes to the table.they forget to cook the food. Basically, Brenda can't cook. Stay clear of the rib cage

I visited The Rib Cage in a party of 8. The dinners were all excellent. Everyone gave the food high marks. I had the lamb chop special. There were 4 large chops perfectly cooked to my preference. The chops were tender, juicy, and flavorful. Other diners had large portions of spare ribs, shrimp, frog legs, prime rib, and egg plant. The sides of baked potato, vegetables, twice baked potato, and the greek salad, were all very good. The dinning area is unpretentious, quiet, and comfortable. With no loud background noise and a medium sized dining area, conversations came easy. The cooking staff appears to be limited in number, so take your time, have a drink, and enjoy your company.
Great food and service. The ribs were the best. They fell off the bone. Pricing was great.

Excellent food especially the fried perch, shrimp and frog legs. I am a frequent diner at the Rib Cage and it never disappoints. Always a friendly welcome!
We have been here many times in the past 30+ years. It has different owners than when we first started eating there, but the food and service remain excellent! We ate there last night and everything was perfect!
Parking: Plenty of close parking in front of the restaurant.

Dirty dishes everywhere/food was cold/service was very slow...Not impressed.
The food was great. The meat options were prepared very well and fresh. Salads were really fresh. The service was great as multiple employees checked in to make sure everything was ok and were very pleasant and friendly.

This is our second time to The Rib Cage and I have to say so far it's been good both times. Last time I got the ribeye and this time I got the surf and turn (filet, walleye, shrimp) and it was fantastic. My son got the spaghetti and at the age of 12 left none on his plate even though there was SO MUCH spaghetti. That's how you know it was good, he barely talked during dinner
My wife got the chicken parm and really enjoyed it too. The chicken took up her entire plate. The portions won't leave you hungry.
The age range of most of the clientele is up there. But don't let that deter you. They know how to cook and they do it well. We will be back for a third visit!

This was the worst. Four of us, the place was not packed. They had one waitress. We sat in the bar area. We waited 45 mins between our salad and our dinner. Two of our steaks were bleeding (literally) and that is not how we ordered. She took it back three times. The sides were not cooked. The Ribs they are supposed to be famous for were terrible. The entire place was filled, every available space had dirty dishes. I used to go there years ago and it was wonderful. The new owner (who had to be the cook last night) is not a cook or a restaurateur. I never write reviews so that should tell you how bad this was. $150.00 lesson learned
