Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

All I can say is YUMMY!!!! Portions are huge, I got a small? Lol

An absolute must! Ice cream delicious, staff awesome! Do something amazing for yourself with some serious self-care and don't forget a pint to go, of course!

I'm OG Handel's from the Boardman/Youngstown area, so it's very nice to have one in the Mayfield area.

My wife saw a TikTok featuring the Buckeye flavor which is what prompted us to visit. She was not disappointed. I tried the Banana Cream Pie, which was very good.

It was a little busy, but nothing too long. It was about $11 for our order.

Wow! So many delicious flavors to choose from! This was my first visit and will not be my last!

So disappointing they have no vegan flavor ice cream. Damn I really wanted sum good non dairy ice cream today.

Never been disappointed with anything I’ve ever ordered

The ice cream is very high in milk fat which is what you look for in a quality scoop. Unfortunately, the 3 flavors I selected were more savory vs sweet. You could tell it was fresh due to the ingredients (crunch/flavor ect). There was a little bit of a wait, however the attendant was cheerful, smiling. Unit was clean. Plenty of parking, limited seating. Cute patio area was completely filled.

I’ve never been to this Handel’s location before, but I ordered a milkshake, and it was basically cookies and cream flavored milk. No Oreo pieces were included, and I understand it’s an extra fee to make it “more thick”, but It wasn’t thick at all. I finished the drink by the time I reach Mayfield road 😭 If ordering a milkshake, make sure you check the consistency before leaving…I was disappointed, but didn’t want to turn around.

I truly love Handles and never had a BAD experience until June 6, 2025. Order a blondie and the young lady that was taking my order, just stared at me confused when I asked for a blondie, I even pointed to it on the menu and she just continued to stare at me and not even think to ask her coworkers for help. I'm describing
It to her how its made. She still continues to stare at me. So Awkward. Finally a coworker comes to help and he said he knew what it was. So I asked him not to warm up the blondie and put the ice cream separate so I could eat it later. So he walked away and began my order and still warmed up my blondie and was going to put ice cream on the blondie, until I said something. I asked for caramel and nuts and he barely even added caramel and nuts but i just left it alone because I was just ready to say I didn't want it anymore. I literally been to this location several times and this was by far the worst. Honestly don't want to go back there. Very disappointing.

Freshmade icecream, with a variety of flavors make this a great place for a treat. Try the salted carmel truffle or black cherry, they are family favs.
