The Chatterbox Tavern is the perfect small-town spot right off the historic square in McConnelsville. It truly feels like stepping into a piece of local history, having been around since 1933. The atmosphere is cozy, friendly, and exactly what you want in a classic tavern.
You absolutely must try their famous Tavern Steak Sandwich—it lives up to the hype! Their Tavern Burger is another excellent choice if you're looking for satisfying, home-cooked pub food. The menu is simple but executed perfectly, and they have a good selection of beer and cocktails to go along with your meal.
If you're a local or just passing through Morgan County, this place is a mandatory stop for great food and a warm, inviting environment. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a great meal. He had baked ham and sides. I had 10oz NY strip. Salads were fresh, entrees were delicious. My steak was cooked just right. We have a house on river and plan on eating often at Chatterbox this summer. Service was great, friendly staff. Our kind of small town restaurant.

There aren't many places where the establishment's owner is sitting at the bar with you, but this is one where he is. Steve, the owner is very friendly and present making sure the place is running well. They have great beef here, too. Burgers and steaks are delicious. Highly recommend
