What a neat little basement spot. The restaurant is in the same building as The Farmer's Table and almost directly under the entrance to Keller Meats. It shares space with the Medina Brewing Company which is where you will sit if you are dining in. You are given 2 tabs if you choose to eat at Big Dog Daddy's and drink at Medina Brewing Company. They do have a water container if you do not wish to patronize an alcohol provider or pay for drinks. My GF and I lunched on a Saturday at about 1240. Unlike the Farmer's table which was crazy busy, BDD and MBC were much less busy. It took a bit to locate and understand the BDD dining room but following the signs led to the food server who explained the process and let us pick seats in MBC. We ordered a Bavarian soft pretzel appetizer with mustard and cheese. It was buttery and plentiful came out warm but not burn your face off hot as I have experienced at many other places. It was very good and the beer cheese was flavorful and plentiful enough to dip my side of fries with the meal. I had a kimchi dog which I subbed a big dog. My GF had a Bubba dog, we shared a side of fries. Both dogs were delicious though they appeared to be the same dog, so I'm not sure if she was upgraded or I was downgraded. The dog was very tasty. On par with dogs I've had in Chicago a lovely sausage taste and decent casing snap. It was not overshadowed by the kimchi toppings. Next visit I might just go for a standard dog with a normal topping like mustard. The fries were fairly standard shoestrings, seasoned well, cooked fairly well. I recommend dipping them in beer cheese. I had an Ohana Pineapple wheat beer and a Wahoo cherry wheat beer from MBC. I preferred the Ohana as the pineapple was distinct and gave the wheat beer an almost light IPA vibe. The Wahoo had a nice reddish color and was drinkable but subtle compared to the Ohana. They had at least 10 other house brews on tap. I really wanted to try Abuela's hot chocolate but I had to drive home and it was quite an alcohol forward 11.4% (I assume stout). In any case, I look forward to coming back.

Food was sub par. Service was absolutely the worst. And waited forever for 2 burgers. Very weird how you have to order your drinks at the bar. Not my kind of place at all. Will not be returning.

This place is definitely the best barbecue! It’s so good and unique! I love the tater tots topped with brisket! The brisket tacos are also amazing! I totally love the baked beans and Mac and cheese as my sides! You should try! You won’t be disappointed!

Keep an eye on your bank statement! I bought one pint of beer and had an additional charge on my account that wasn’t mine. I contacted the business and sent a screen shot of the charges and haven’t heard back from them.

I like to support small local businesses, so I really hate to leave a bad review. However, I left feeling very disappointed and I think other people need to know how this place operates. We had a gift card for Medina brewing company. The only reason we went here was because we had the gift card. We walked in , the name on the door says Medina brewing company. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We ordered food, went to pay the bill and I handed our waitress the gift card. She then told us that she couldn’t take it because it WASN’T Medina brewing company and only the actual bar was Medina brewing company. I definitely think they should tell customers up front that they run two separate businesses in there. I go to a lot of places and have never seen something like this. It was very odd and I left feeling ripped off and just didn’t have a good feeling. So now I still have this gift card and I really don’t want to even go back to use it .

Interesting dinning experience. The bar is separate from restaurant. So u end up with two bills. However waitress did orders for both. ? Wife paid the bills while I went little boys rm, said lol. Waitress added herself 25% tip to both bills. Grrrrr. 25% for me is reserved for an over the top dinning experience. This was not the place. Average BBQ with bar scene. Shady wait staff.

Absolutely the best ribs and pulled pork I have found around this area! Extremely juicy pork and smoky tender ribs with a nice BBQ sauce on the side.

For a restaurant with “dog” in the name I thought the hotdogs would be better… this location definitely feels like a bar that started serving food.

The pretzel was delicious, and the tater tots were nice and crispy. Pictured is the #5 Loaded Tots which had *one bite* of brisket and a good amount of sauce. The back of this picture is the kids chicken nuggets with macaroni and cheese.

Also be aware that you will have TWO separate bills: one for food and one for drinks (including soda, lemonade, & tea).

Parking: The parking lot was full so we had to park down the street and walk over. The walk was close enough to not be a hassle.

Kid-friendliness: This location did have high chairs available ?

Big Dog Daddy's serves up some solid BBQ and Smoked meats. The Pulled Pork Sandwich with original BBQ sauce was one of the better Pulled Pork sandwiches we've had in the area. The Brem Brat Burger was also something special; a Brat and a Burger in one! We also enjoyed some pints from Medina Brewing Company in their bar area and listened to some local music. It's the setting of a bar so it can be loud, but the food and beers are well worth it!
