We were there night before last when the storm hit. we were the only customers there. about 5 minutes after the storm hit the power went out. they were very apologetic even though it was beyond their control. they took us in and treated us like family. they told us they could still cook because of having gas but unable to grill as the hood was out. so we stayed and ordered items they were able to cook and all of the food was excellent! they were very kind to us, brought over candles...

The salad was amazing. The short ribs were exquisite. The asparagus was unbelievable. The sangria was delicious. And the beignets? OMG!!!!!! UPDATE 4/3: We returned and it was just as amazing. This is now our favorite restaurant and one of the best in Dayton!

First visit to LaEmbajafa. The decor is very inviting and feels a bit like home.
Started with an appetizer, Arancini. This is a fried rice ball served on a bed of tomato based sauce. These were very good. My entree was the Lamb Jollaf. West Frican rice with pieces of lamb served in a bowl. This dish was absolutely delicious! For dessert, we ordered Beignets Criollas. Fried puff pastry served with cream and blackberries.
