staff need a serious attitude adjustment and need better training on customer service. i came in two hours before close and was not greeted but asked if i was dining out when i said no the man rolled his eyes and was visibly upset that we even came in. when a women came to the desk she asked if we were dining in i once again said yes she said it’ll be a 30 minute wait seeming irritated (tho the place was nearly empty). before i could say never mind she said have a goodnight and stormed away. please don’t close at 9 if you’re gonna be angry customers actually sit and eat in your restaurant. thanks

Im a reoccurring customer here. The couple who owns this place are the sweetest and they never get my order wrong. The sushi is fantastic and the atmosphere inside is modern japanese and very nice. I go order from here at least once a month. Never had better sushi anywhere in Ohio.

We go to Umi around once a week to split the Maki dinner for 2. Love the pink lady and fantastic roll. It's a small place run by 2 people so you may not get a table for a while at peak hours.

This place exceeded all my expectations. I had the American Dream sushi, Philadelphia, and salmon roll. Incredible taste, I enjoyed every bite. Much tastier than at Kintaro (if you know, you know). The restaurant is not big but very atmospheric and stylish. I highly recommend it.

Kristy and Jason are wonderful people. They take pride in the food they serve which you can tell by how wonderful the food actually is. I would recommend anything on their menu because it is all phenomenal. I frequent this place quite often because this little hole in the wall is a diamond in the rough. I recommend anybody to go eat here whether you like sushi or not because they have other food other than Sushi that is also phenomenal.

This should be a bucket list destination. I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants in several states, but this far surpasses the pretensious waiting for a month for a table, overpriced, normal fair... The chef is an artist with his craft and the hostess is welcoming and wonderful. Make a reservation, enjoy, and let it become your new hidden secret in Cleveland. The simple perfection of sushi and sashimi finally done as it should be.
