I called and ordered 2.5 dozen donuts two days before I needed them. They were for my children's class at school. I went to pick them up and they didn't make them. I had students and teachers expecting donuts. I had to drive around Middlefield to find some. Maggie's Donuts to the rescue! Not to mention while I was in line at Maggie's a guy behind me said that Nauvoo Marketplace is a joke. I am highly upset they did nothing to make it right.

This place is not very big but has many bulk buys if you're looking for spices, chocolates, nuts, or candies. They also had larger serving containers of groceries from Sysco that restaurants buy. The bakery smelled delicious. We got some of the fry pies which even two days later still taste fresh as long as you keep them in the refrigerator. The marked down fry pies were not as good; it seems they did not store them in a refrigerator so they went stale more quickly.

My title says it all! This store has a whole lot of bulk food and other items, as well as housewares, etc. But the highlight is the bakery. They have many flavors of fried pies and a lot of other stuff. I wish it was closer to home (Western New York). There are a couple of tables set up that people could eat at. I didn't see any prepared food except for the baked goods, but its possible that they make sandwiches.

The donuts are worth the trip but there is so much more to see and taste. The staff is friendly and helpful and that is not as usual other places. The prices are budget friendly too. Every time I visit I discover something new to eat or buy that I needed. I stop in once a month or so and I can't wait to go in again. I just wish there was a Nauvoo Family Market in my home town.

The bakery is really nice with a variety of donuts (which everybody was buying), bread, whoopie pies and fry pies (a little more expensive than the End of Commons in Mesopotamia and did not have as many varieties as the Commons). The people were very helpful and friendly. They also carry a wide variety of bulk candy, peanuts, baking products, meats and cheeses.
