Sad to see they never reopened. So many people loved this place. The food was awesome. I spent 3 years in the USArmy in Germany, and had schnitzel when ever I could find it. The closest to what I remember was right at Chalet in the Valley. We went looking for cheese and found a favorite restaurant. My wife, and I would travel every year from Columbus, Ohio to Amish Country , and my wife would always request eating there. If I had the money I'd buy the place, and wouldn't change a thing. I remember my brother taking on the Matterhorn. And bringing family there some that are no longer with us. It was a highlight of the trip. My wife loved feeding the animals. Lots of good memories there. The workers were always friendly, and the place always smelled like freshly cooked homemade deliciousness.

I absolutely loved their Reuben Schnizel... Veal cutlet with sauerkraut. I think it also had cheese on it. Delicious! If I get an opportunity to eat there again, I am getting it again.

Sadly they are not open will they ? Almost 2 years sence they closed. They said they were going to reopen last year they closed early 2020 yes covid19 and hard to find help but they close when people would want European food winter. It would be more romantic in the winter with the rich food the comfort food that is nice and warm on a cold day. They close the the winter Feb 14th a big money maker for the food industry. Just so sad to see a good restaurant not open. Will it ever reopen?

They have a little Cheese Shop across the street - Guggisburg Cheese, Meats snacks, drinks etc... Also a fantastic Restaurant at the main Chalet. Their Winery is just down the street where you can stay, ride horses and visit the area.

It's hard to recommend a place as not open and sadly it doesn't look like it's gonna happen very soon. or will sad to see a place like this close and not reopen. so sad they even closed at all.
We had a very lovey server - Amanda - she was outstanding. We are not big drinkers but like a glass or beer or wine with our meal - no alcohol on the menu - this may be regional. The spaetzle with wild mushrooms was so salty i could not eat it so the server replaced my meal with another and was very gracious. I am not one who sends food back - i like to eat with and finish with the others in my party. The schnitzel was good. The spaetzle itself was good but the sauce was the salty problem. The desserts looked beautiful but we passed. The glasses of water- i know this sounds trite - were the prettiest I have ever had - clear glass, tall, with the clearest ice cubes i could imagine. Nice decor - very Swiss with fireplaces and artwork. Not new but very cute. The breadsticks were pretzels - nice change.

Chalet in the Valley was a great restaurant! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was quaint. We enjoyed walking the grounds and seeing the goats before we ate and learning the history of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend it!

We had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. It was well worth the 50 minute wait for a table! Food was very good. Good size portions. Service was very good. Most of the staff was very nice. Our server did a very good job.

Swiss inspired meals made with the 2019 world champion of cheese. Their local made Swiss cheese in the fondue for 2 is amazing to say the least. Great food and next to a local meat and cheese market which has many tasty treats.
