Sweet Joy Bakery and Coffee

Kind staff, sweet atmosphere, we liked the coffee, but I was sadly met with judgement.

Went in and immediately noticed the Christianity theme, so I asked who I assume to be the owner/manager if they were affirming. This is an important question my girlfriend and I need to know before being repeat customers. Are we safe and welcome here, or will we be judged as a couple?

I was immediately met with a response about sin, and then an “assurance” that “We are all sinners,” which was tough, and of course I responded with, “Yes, but my sins don’t include me loving a woman.” He (Brandon, I believe) didn’t agree with that statement, and since my original question asked about the views of the shop, I can sadly conclude that the coffee shop is not, in fact, affirming to the LGTBQ community.

Safe places for my community are crucial, especially now, and disappointingly, this coffee shop is not one of them. I’m praying they take time to look at what Christ actually says, and then maybe we can have a space here that is welcoming and loving for all communities.

Until then, we will not be back, and I caution those in my community to be wary.

I love coming here and the availability of being on DoorDash for my caffeine and sugar fixes. Friendly staff. A+++ Sincerely, Bat Juice Lemonade girl 😊

Stopped into Sweet Joy randomly needing a place to work for a few calls & the staff was so pleasant, coffee was delicious & the take five cookie was out of this world!

Sweet Joy is the absolute best! The owners and employees are always kind, helpful and warm. The drinks are amazing, and they have the best cookies in town! Their store is cozy and inviting, and they have the cutest trinkets to buy.

Warm greetings everytime you walk in. Drinks are always made well and fast. The little gift shop they have is cute. Well known coffee shop in Morrow for all the right reason. Always one of my go to places.

I can’t get enough of Sweet Joy. I am there at least once a week. In the winter I am a coffee girl and their seasonal flavors are amazing. In the summer I can’t step away or get enough of the signature Lavender Lemonade!
