Im not always impressed with other people's barbecue sauce. The ribs were fall off the bone, but not my favorite sauce flavors. I'd like to try something else here, but I probably won't get the ribs again.

Stopped in to see what the hype was all about and left more confused than impressed. Walking in, it felt like we had accidentally crashed bingo night. There were no signs telling us whether to seat ourselves or wait to be seated, so we awkwardly sat at the bar, only to find out the bar is for carry-out only. A little clarity would go a long way. We ordered the famous ribs to go, because that’s what all the buzz was about. While waiting, I grabbed a glass of water which tasted like it came straight from the garden hose of my childhood. Nostalgic? Maybe. Tasty? Definitely not. As for the ribs, they were okay… not terrible, but not worth the drive either. The sauce didn’t do them any favors it was more of a disappointment than a complement. The fries were stale, and the bread? Let’s just say the birds in the parking lot would probably appreciate it more than we did. All in all, we gave it a fair shot, but left wondering if we missed something or if the hype is just stuck in the past.

If this is the same New Riegel, my father used to bring our family here back in the late sixties, early seventies. Just thought I would look you up to see if you were still around would love to get back there, in Akron Ohio now. I know there was no gift shop or anything like that there

I've been going here for 40+ years and this has been my birthday meal for over 10 years. Not anymore....tonight had to be the worst $120 meal I've ever had. The ribs were dry yet very greasy. Paid for sauce on the fries and maybe a handful of them had sauce. The house doesn't even smell like we had New Reigel ribs...the sauce has changed dramatically. I would give anything to wait 4 hours and deal with Hilda being grumpy for the original ribs.

We ordered - nice waitress and the Stroh’s was cold that’s the only Plus! No ranch dress ing for salads - when the ribs were brought to the table there was sauce all over the outside of the dishes ( hopefully I can get it out of my top ?) sloppy mess ! My husband and daughter’s ribs had an off smell-fishy ! They thought maybe it was the sauce. It wasn’t !! And to charge for sauce on the FF we should have been told . The ribs were literally swimming in it and flavorless ! The so called FF were skinny very skinny ! SO DISAPPOINTED WE WILL NOT BE BACK AFTER MORE THAN 60 years of coming to NR Cafe ☹️. You can get the Best ribs at Smokey’s in Republic !!!

Please stop trying to convince all of us that the sauce has not changed. We have been going there for over 40 years. The sauce is NOT the same. It’s watered down and definitely missing an ingredient which I am allergic to but I ate the ribs for 40 plus years anyway because they were that good. Now, no allergic reaction at all which tells me at least one ingredient is missing or it’s so watered down I don’t react anymore. We keep giving it “one more try” but the last trip the table next to us complained about the sauce being different as well so I know it isn’t just us. Please, just go back to the original ingredients or be honest and admit you made changes. At least the fries and salad were delicious.

Tonight was like chawing on a well done country style rib
I have been going to New Reigel, as long as I can remember, it was a tradition for our family, the food was always amazing, and worth the long long wait. We had so many friends we traveled up there with or met there to enjoy the ribs. My husband and I drove up about a month ago, very disappointed, with tip spent about 60.00. That place looked amazing, was very clean. The meal was a disappointment, the ribs were nice and meaty, but the sauce was very bland and tasteless, s I asked for extra sauce and didn’t seem like they added any and the fries were kind of tasteless This has been my favorite place to eat, even though 45 minutes from home. Please get the sauce back to being the best sauce around, that gave you bad breath for days. I know this isn’t a nice review, and I’d love nothing more than to come back, but as of now, not worth the money or the time it takes to travel. Please fix the receipt back to the original and I can guarantee we will be back along with many many more. Thank you.

Have been going to this restaurant for almost 50 years and the past couple times we have driven from Tiffin for ribs and fries, we have been beyond disappointed. I chose not to post until tonight. We always ask AND PAY EXTRA for extra sauce on both ribs and fries… top 2 ribs had a little sauce but bottom, NONE!! Fries were stale as could be AND ABSOLUTELY NO SAUCE AT ALL! Salad was good.. $48 meal I wouldn’t have pd $5 for.
