We went for lunch and ordered from the lunch menu. It was fairly busy. Everything looked clean. The music and decorations were as expected for a Mexican restaurant. The waitress quickly took our drink and food orders. The salsa was delicious. The cheese dip was delicious. I didn't think the chips were that good but weren't terrible. The food arrived pretty quickly. It was hot, delicious, and authentic too. The portions were big and the price was cheap. Highly recommend going here. I'll be back.

What a wonderful meal and experience! The staff were so friendly, quick, and attentive, which made everything even better. I really enjoyed the beef chimichanga—it was absolutely perfect. And of course, the chips and salsa were incredible as well. I definitely recommend Puerto Vallarta if you're craving delicious Mexican food while you're in Newark!

I would recommend this place if you are looking for great Mexican food but do not care too much about the service you will receive. This is the second time visiting this establishment with the same outcome. The food comes out in nice portions and hot. We enjoyed our meals a lot. That being said , we definitely did not like the service either time. The waiter delivers our drinks and food but thats it. He never once came back to check to see how the food came out or if we needed anything. No refills , nothing. We had to go find the manger for boxes and the bill. He also was not friendly at all. So all in all great food but horrible service.
