Shipp Brothers Brewing Restaurant & Taproom

Overall this was a very enjoyable place to grab food and a large variety beer. I will say if you want a huge variety of beer from across the country, this place is a must visit! A range all all styles are represented on their tap menu. They also have space for private parties and very attentive staff that are quick to help with any questions.

I didn't really care for the fully wrapped glasses, takes away from my beer experience by looking at the beer appearance, but that just a personal preference. During my visit they only had 3 of their beers on tap which was a little disappointing, probably wouldn't come back just due to this.

We were there on Wednesday 2/5. When we got there, it didn't seem crowded and it never really got full. We sat down and ordered our drinks and food immediately (this was at 5:30). The tables on both sides of us ordered and got their drinks and had told the waitress they were both going to the Midland for the show at 7pm.

Stopped in last Saturday 12-28-24. Returning customer. Did the $20 prepaid card for beer, the bologna sandwich was good, onion rings were very good, chips and queso was good. Waitress was attentive. But when it came time to pay she told me the amount, I thought it was reasonable so I handed her my card without seeing the ticket. If I had looked at the itemized bill I would have seen the drink that we did not order or consume, so my bad there. I paid, noticed the suggested tip amounts were very high, 20% amount was over 28%. After looking closer at the receipt they suggest tip percentages based on the total bill before discounts. I only used $6.10 on that drink card so they included the $13.90 discount in the tip amount----an extra $2.78 tip in the calculation. Anyway I was also charged for a Long Island ice tea we never ordered, $9.00 with tip $1.80 equals $10.80 overcharge. The waitress said she processed a refund but we have not seen it on our card. Called and spoke to a guy who said he would check into it after the lunch rush and get back to me, nothing, no response.
Don't agree with tipping on amount that is refunded off that drink card. Don't agree with paying for someone else's drink. Always look over the bill before you pay. Don't expect anything from management once you walk out the door.
****After contacting Shipp BB the gentleman who answered took the info and refunded that drink and the tip amount I felt was overcharged. So, everything has been resolved to our satisfaction.

Jade quickly seated us. She was receptive to our questions & promptly took our order. The place was well lit & lively, but not too noisy. The place was clean, and our appetizer was satisfying. I definitely plan on returning.

The food was fantastic and the beer selection was fantastic. The owner stopped by and gave us a history lesson for the restaurant and showed us how the start-of-the-art self-serve taps work. Will definitely go back.

After sleeping on this I removed a negative review, It was one of the nights for me, was everything great no, but nothing I generally just let pass. The food was good as always and the service was okay. We never had a beer card at anytime. But I acted out of line not myself and I apologize. Thank you hope to see you again
