Easter brunch was nothing better than disappointing. We stood at the hotel lobby probably 15 minutes because there were no signs telling us where to go to check in for brunch. Then when we were seated, we waited and waited for a server to come. I finally went and asked someone and as it turned out, there was not a server assigned to our table. The table was wobbly and should have been leveled out before anyone ate there. The bottom of the table on the floor, where my feet were was sticky, not cleaned anytime recently. We never even got water served. The beef was OK. The eggs were OK. The desserts were just awful, they were terribly dry and did not taste good at all. The buffet line was not organized at all. People were running into each other. Was not worth the $54 per person for a table of five for sure.

My husband and I dined tonight as guests of the hotel, and we had an absolutely amazing experience. The food and drinks were incredible, but the service was unmatched. We met manager, Antonio, and our server was Ren, and they were top tier! Ren was fast, kind and cheerful, and checked on us often. Antonio made his rounds more than once to make sure we were enjoying everything completely. They were both so great, it really contributed to our wonderful dinner. We started with the deviled eggs and cheese plate appetizers, which we of course filled up on and could barely eat our meals, but we made do! The carnitas pizza was delicious, and my husband loved the addition of fresh cilantro and radish. I had the double-bone pork chop with bourbon glaze (Ren’s recommendation!), and it literally melted in my mouth. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and I could’ve eaten the bourbon glaze on a shoe. The smashed redskin potatoes were creamy and buttery, and the Brussels sprouts were a welcomed flavor change (from the typical sweet flavor you get elsewhere), roasted with shaved parmesan. We extra splurged with the vanilla bread pudding with black cherries, and a crème brûlée with a base of chocolate ganache. Absolutely the perfect end to an amazing meal. Don’t sleep on Crafstman Kitchen & Terrace nestled in the Cherry Valley Hotel; you won’t regret it!

Before I share this review, I need you to know that I did email the hotel TWICE at the front desk email address listed on the website, and through the form on their website. I never received a response. So, I am sharing my story here. This is about the Igloo Dining. I paid $190 for a lackluster experience. The food was good, the service was great, but the atmosphere really left us with a bad experience. It was February 16th at 8:45 p.m., it was a special Valentine's Day date and I had been waiting for almost a year for the experience, and while it did unexpectedly snow that evening, we were NOT prepared for the experience we had. We spend a lot of time at this hotel for holiday events, reserving rooms for birthdays and New Years Eve, and eating at the Craftsman Kitchen. It was definitely underwhelming, and we are not one to complain because we will just "suck it up and bare it". We had to wait for quite a while to get into the igloo because of the switch over, but we were perfectly fine waiting. We both dressed warm with sweaters and boots, and were prepared for dining outside. We just were not prepared that the Igloo would be SO COLD. We were in the last Igloo on the walking trail if you go to the right. While the heater was on, it was not putting off enough heat, and you could tell that the electric in the Igloo was drained because the string lights were fighting for the electric, it was either the string lights or the "fireplace" (which seemed decorative), but not both. If you turned the fireplace off, the string lights would come on. The portable heater in there was probably strained as well. As we sat there with our coats and gloves on, we enjoyed the delicious food, while being able to see our breath as you normally can do when you are outside on a very cold night. It was a very odd experience eating filet mignon and being able to see your breath like you're eating outside. We tried to make the most out of it, even putting on our own music, and dancing. But we still could not feel our toes. We even tried to use the throw blankets. It was truly the most romantic and most uncomfortably cold date ever. We couldn't even make it to dessert, so we went inside to have the server pack it up (he is wonderful by the way!). We had no issues with the food, or the service. But the environment was unbearable. The WORST part about it was that when we passed by another Igloo on our way back in and we opened it (the one front and center), and it was SO MUCH WARMER in there! Why were we eating in an Igloo that had heating problems when the other Igloos seemed to be functional? This made paying the $190 check even more stomach churning. It is disappointing that Cherry Valley Hotel never even bothered to address my concern. Now I will always remember this experience when I go back. I would also like to see that Igloo be evaluated and redone so that nobody else has the same cold experience that we did. Very disappointed!

We had Shayne as our waiter and the whole staff was very nice. I have celiac and Shayne asked every single question I had. The food turned out amazing. We got the burger (gf bun) and the cherry valley salad with chicken.

The French onion soup was served cold and without cheese. The sweet potato waffle fries should have been called “chips” because of how overcooked and dry they were. The bacon macaroni and cheese had no flavor at all.We ordered them to-go, immediately took a short walk back to our room to eat, and ended up throwing all of those items in the trash.

If the small, local, independent restaurants like this are going to have any chance of surviving, much less being successful, they’re going to have to learn how to do better.I will echo what other reviewers have said about the restaurant not being prepared for the amount of business. But this is confusing to me as we had a reservation, at 5pm, on a Wednesday. Hardly prime time for any restaurant. We ordered off the children’s menu before even ordering drinks. This food was the LAST to arrive, almost 90 minutes after our reservation time. I had to buy a convenience store package of meat and cheese to keep my child fed.The food was not impressive, over-sauced and over-cooked. The drinks were subpar, the result of a full bar with no one to tend it. And the service was… inadequate, albeit innocent due to utter ignorance of how to handle these issues in a restaurant. The part that gets to me the most though is that through our more than 2 hour experience here, we were never approached by anyone resembling management. Not once. They were present, filling the ice chest and walking the hotel lobby, but sharing no concern for us or anyone else in the restaurant.Lastly, this was during restaurant week. My understanding is that this event is meant to encourage new patrons to restaurants around town. This experience at Cherry Valley was our first, and certainly last.

Went tonight for a special that has been advertised as buy one get one for prime rib. Not even sure where to start with this review, they were not prepared for being busy it seems. After a hour our food arrived meat was not even warm, baked potato was not fully cooked either. We left at this time and they did comp our glass of wine. Would not even give them a 1 but that is the lowest score on here. Would have been better off eating a gas station roller dog than what was delivered.

Want to like local restaurants so we don't have to drive into Columbus, but our first experience was an unwelcoming hostess who literally seated us in a corner of a fairly empty restaurant at 4pm on Sunday. We asked to sit somewhere else where 80% of the seats was still open and she still refused. 3 stars to compensate for good Service. Food was ok, I had better Prime Rib. Don't think we will be back unfortunately.

We had a wonderful experience on New Year's Eve. The food and drinks were very good, and it was a very nice atmosphere. We also had New Year's Day brunch that was outstanding. Everyone was very kind and the service was great.

I think for the price, the buffet didn’t fully meet my expectations. I tried pork loin and walleye, both were pretty dry and I was disappointed that there was no med rare prime rib available, it was all pretty well done. Everyone was really nice and helpful, the atmosphere was great. It wasn’t a bad experience, I just thought that overall, the quality didn’t quite match the price value.
