This is a classic, unique hometown place. The home-cooked meals are truly amazing, and the service even better. The atmosphere completes the perfect dinner with nostalgic items dating back to original owners.

The best French onion soup and Ruben sandwich anywhere.
Best little family restaurant in Newark. The staff was attentive, the decorations were great and the food was delicious and tasty. I had the ham and bean soup w cornbread. The beans were seasoned perfectly and had lots of ham. I had the bread pudding w cream sauce. It was amazing, just perfect. I was told it was a 100 year old recipe handed down through the generations. My friends had the pork chops. They were seasoned perfectly. So tender, you can cut it with a table knife. They had the peanut butter pie after dinner. I was told it was the best pie they've ever had in their life ❤️After New Years, they close down for a few months.I can't wait for the reopening. I'll definitely be back. ?❤️
Yesterday's pub is charming restaurant, with friendly welcoming vibe. Great service and delicious food.
My husband and I absolutely love this place, they treat you like family. The service is friendly, and the food is delicious. We both had grilled salmon dinners. The salmon was exceptional, we would highly recommend ordering it.
I live in chicago and my family has always loved liver and onions. my mother made a wonderful version and after her death my father and I sought out every liver and onions special in the western suburbs and beyond! so imagine my surprise when I came upon this charming little place in Ohio on a Wednesday with a liver and onions special. It was the best I've ever had! get the two piece (you'll kick yourself later if you don't!). Plus, it is a gorgeous space. google it.
Amazing food and amazingly friendly staff all around a very enjoyable experience
Stumbled upon this unassuming restaurant last week. Have eaten there twice since. Great food, friendly service & nostalgic environment. What seems like just a little ranch house with white siding is a cover for the blast back in time once you enter the front door. Impressive, massive, beautiful antique bar greets you. Vintage & antique kitschy decor scattered on the walls and bar kept me entertained just looking at every nook and cranny. The dining room with bentwood chairs with red & white checkered tablecloths remind me of the original Buddy ‘s Pizza in Detroit. Now on to the food- The awesome burger truly is awesome. Cooked perfectly and full of toppings. We were fortunate enough to get the last order of crab cakes & they did not disappoint! HUGE chunks of crab & absolutely delicious. Rueben sandwich had shaved corned beef vs giant thick slices which I loved. Homemade Clam chowder is the best I’ve ever had. You can taste the love it’s made with & I bet it’s a 100 year old recipe it’s that good. Can’t wait to go back and try the French onion soup everyone raves about.
We use to love and visit this place often ,but just tried to go there and had the worst service ! Walked in and stood while two female employees just stared at us for a good ten mins. They finally decided to get motivated enough to move and told us that it would be a 45 min wait because they don't have any more tables. Funny thing was on the front room there was another couple eating at a table and we're four tables in that same room. Also there was a total of four cars in the parking lot. Very frustrating when it just seems like people don't want to do their jobs and we had to get kids out of car seats just to get major attitude. Don't think we will be back. It's a shame they have good food and usually have a very friendly gentleman helping people coming in but these lady's were anything but

Excellent
Amazing Dinner and Wonderful owners
The food was very good. I highly recommend the margarita. The owner said it was the original Chi Chi's recipe. She was good friends with the bartender there. It was like taking a step back into time. They were all very friendly. Will go back.
Great local spot. We came with family who had been dying to show us the spot. I loved the atmosphere, its full of art and tchotchkes from the decades it's been around, red leather booths, stained glass lamp shades, and a table only for chess players. As if the atmosphere wasn't enough the drinks are tall and stiff, the husband and wife team are delightful, and the menu is full of comforting classics executed very well. Can't recommend this place enough.
