Typical small town family country diner. Food was good, and service was quick. Inside is showing it's age, but clean.

After reading the reviews we decided this may be a place we'd like to support. As we travel all the time and try our best to give local gems our business.
But this was disappointing. Wasn't packed and yet I had to get my own spoon to stir my coffee after asking for one and waiting what seemed like 15mins.. Food took a while for a nearly dead dinning room.
My steak was decent although it came well done when I asked for medium. I've never had "home fries" come out like boiled sliced potatoes (like they were going into a sculpt ham recipe)
My wife's omelet had an egg shell on top of it, even on top of the melted cheese, like for real. And her gravy which I assumed was supposed to be sausage biscuits gravy, was completely flavorless. Water and flour that's it.
They set the check down on the table before we were even close to done, but didn't put the total on it. So I asked for the total and they made it seem like it was a problem. "We do that when you go to the counter to cash out"
But as we sat there I don't remember anyone going up to the counter and it didn't seem as if anyone paid. Just got up and left.
Maybe they don't like tourists but in any case, duly noted. Would not go back.
I just wish I had exact change so I didn't have to tip, as I really didn't want to but I wasn't going to stay any longer. I just put my cash on the table with the 3 nearly full plates and left.
Truly their loss as I tip huge for exceptional service.

I'm sad to see they are selling this place. My sister and I would come here to meet for breakfast every payday. We've never had a bad breakfast yet. It's a simple and laid back place. And I e read some of the bad reviews, we have all had bad days here and there but I like places that are more like a home setting and home cooked meals over fastfood anyway.( I STILL LOVE MY FRAPPES THOUGH!)

Had grilled chicken sandwich. It was so dry and hard to chew. The waitress was not friendly at all. She seemed like she hated her job. Companion had roast beef and it was very salty.

Found this little hometown gem several years ago following a weekend camping trip nearby. We've returned every year since then and have not been disappointed. It's nothing fancy, just a quaint diner nestled on a side street in a small town with big flavor!
They had a beautiful Father's Day buffet this year which most of our group went after. There was Salisbury steak, chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans & other hot foods plus all kind of nice looking desserts. Since we got there close to 10 AM, I opted for breakfast off the menu and you couldn't see the plate under the haystack I ordered! Yummy!
