Contessa's Italian Pizzeria

After a very emotional day of transferring our dad to hospice, my family wanted to go someplace where we could relax and eat delicious food. We are all from out-of-town…Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia. Well, someone was looking over us because we couldn’t have found a better spot. The staff was fun, attentive, warm and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and the ultimate “comfort”. Our difficult day ended in a positive way. Geno even hugged me on the way out. I wish I lived in Canton, simply so I could become a regular! I’ll never forget the experience.

A variety of Mouthwatering food with great prices. Everyone working was personable just like a friend having you over for dinner with lots of laughter. A bring your own alcohol place.

I must say they have the best sheet pizza ever. I have ordered sheet pizza from many place and most are ok at best. This was amazing pizza especially for a sheet. I will be back.

We had catering done for my moms 60th birthday party and it was the best decision we have made! I called into the restaurant to get information about catering prices, and we were invited in for a full taste test. Geno took the time to sit down with us and he figured out what all we needed from the food amounts to what plateware size to get for our event. Everything turned out amazing the day of and everyone kept asking where we got the food. Thank you so much for making my moms day extra special!

Pizza is delicious ,wings too a must try

Tonight I wanted to try someplace new and happened across Contessa's. The place is quaint, seating about 15 in the entire dining room. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, so I found myself getting to know the regulars seated near me as they raved about the food.They weren't wrong. Gino takes pride in the food he serves and it certainly shows. The chicken wings were superb. Each piece lightly battered and crispy yet tender and juicy. And the sauces were a flavorful compliment rather than drowning the wings or overpowering them.The veggies all tasted fresh, whether from the delicious chopped salad or the angry pasta adorned with peppers. And the marinara sauce is sweet but bursting with flavor from the many herbs within.Gino is an artisan and aims to please. I look forward to trying many more of the items on his menu and becoming one of those familiar faces each month.

I dined here recently for a special occasion and had a great time and a great meal. Service was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The stuffed Italian peppers were baked in a marinara sauce that was excellent. The highlight of the meal though was definitely the chicken carbonara. That alone was worth the trip.

I visited Contessas Italian pizzeria today based on high score in Google maps. I’m very happy to say that it was a good recommendation! I ordered a 16 inch pizza with sausage pepperoni and onions. I just took my first bite and I can tell you that their sauce is a bright flavorful tomato sauce with garlic and that their cheese is real cheese that has real flavor. The sausage is flavorful there are plenty of toppings.I’m very happy and will definitely be coming back here again they aren’t my five star rating and my loyalty.Don’t get me wrong this is a small mom and pop kind of place and it taste like it. Family made Italian goodness. I’m not sure if they are not but I would guess the employee used to be family.The dining room is not very big and only has room for I think six tables of four but they had one pushed together to make a large seating for people as well.They told me my pizza to be ready in 30 minutes it was ready a bit sooner which is always a nice surprise.I did let them know that it was my first time here and they thanked me for trying them out wanted to know why I did, gave me menus for lunch and for dinner to go and we’re really happy to have me there. This is how customers should be treated, like new friends around a table.

Looking for something local while visiting Akron and this place was just what we were looking for.Home-made simple yet tasty Italian food in a warm family style decor and on top of it all is their friendly hospitality.Large portions of pasta and fully topped pizza. Even the starters of fried zucchini and contessa peppers were amazing.I’ll surely drop by again when in the area and recommend others to give it a try.

Y'all...the Contessa Peppers are the bomb. Spicy, rich, meaty with Italian sausage, and just so yummy stuffed and naked peppers. Get them. They come with buttery toasted bread too. Their pizza was good, but those peppers will make me return. The place has a hole in the wall, neighborhood feel to it. The guys behind the counter are friendly and welcoming. Go check them out.
