You can’t get anyone to answer the phone to place an order. I have called five times. So will take our business elsewhere.

Samantha’s Restaurant on Portage. I will forever love your cheesy potatoes but I doubt we will be back anytime soon. ONE WHOLE HOUR. We waited from the time we ordered our breakfast until it came. At the 45 minute mark the waitress did come around and say that she’s not sure why but the kitchen is backed up. She said that maybe it was the to-go orders they received that delayed them. Anyway… Michael was ready to walk out the door when I said give them 5 more minutes… we were all starving but I knew if we left, the food would be ready. So I went and asked the waitress if she knew about how much longer? She went to go check and came back with the kids food… then ours. We heard her apologize to the table behind us for the long wait, they sat down just a few minutes before us, and comped their whole bill for the inconvenience. A table of 4 adults. When our bill was brought, I asked if there was anything that can be discounted or done about the bill since the wait was so long? The waitress went to go ask and when she came back… she brought us a $15 gift card and said nothing could be done with the bill. 🤦🏼‍♀️ You do understand that we won’t be back…. So giving us a gift card was irrelevant.

Went there on Saturday morning. It was a little busy. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The manager acknowledged my husband but not me. The manager was loud and obnoxious. She kept talking very loud to a male customer. She acted ridiculous. She was very unprofessional.

Samantha's is a good place for breakfast. Food comes out rather fast normally. But some of the servers are not very attentive. Sadly it's not the younger generation either. When I sit with a empty soda during my whole meal kind of aggravates me. Especially since they walk by many times.. but over all when you get the right servers place is amazing.

My husband and I stopped for lunch and I got the chicken salad with walnuts and mandarin oranges and it comes with a side of crackers it was on the lite menu. It was $8.99 which I didn't think was bad until it was served, the chicken salad had walnuts and what appeared to be two mandarin oranges chopped in it. It was served on a lettuce leaf and it was about the size of an ice cream scoop, totally not worth it. Husband had a turkey club and chili, both average. Total bill, no drinks was $21.00. Definitely not worth it.

Surcharge of 4% for using credit card should have been separate from the food. It should have been listed as a line item but it was not. If you tell the register person, 20% tip, then you would be paying the tip on the food served as well as the added surcharge. I don't believe there was any signage or adequate disclosure that warned customers of the surcharge. I only became aware of it when I saw total food did not match the total I came up with. It was only then I was told the food charge included the additional credit card fee.
