Sylvester's North End Grille

One of my favorite places in town. Party of 4 all had delicious food. So when my fish came out the size of a Pepperidge farm goldfish, I was a bit disappointed. That said it was still delicious although gone in 5 bites.

Place was busy for a Wednesday evening. We were a party of 9. Our waitress was very nice, but service was very slow. Our reservation was for 6:30. It was well after 7 before we had drinks, and another 20 minutes to order. Salads arrived rather quickly, but another wait for entrees. We were hungry!!!! Once served, everyone was pleased with food.

Every experience has been horrible. If you reserve a party and someone more important pops up, your space will not be appropriately reserved. Good luck. Also not a good choice if you are looking for anything healthy.

A birthday dinner and it was fabulous. The meal was excellent. We ordered 5 apps for the table and everyone raved about all of them. The steaks and pasta dishes cooked to perfection and the table went very quiet after the served us. Always a good sign. We rolled out to our cars very happy and satisfied. Excellent meal. We’ll be back. And BTW. The place was busy. They didn’t miss a beat!

Sydney was an absolute joy to have as our waitress. She had to deal with a party of 10 that was celebrating a special birthday. She was extremely patient with all of us, what a Blessing to have her with us to celebrate our sisters 78th!🥳 🥰Thankyou Sydney, and thankyou Sylvester's.

Everything about this place is top notch.
I mean we had incredible food, steaks and walleye. Then the server was Bryan and he was so good, so attentive to all our wants. It was a joy to have him.
Never been disappointed here ever!!

Had a family dinner to celebrate my Dad's 84th Birthday tonight. All of our meals were delicious. Our server, Sydney, took terrific care of us!

Love this place. And love the servers. Ask to taste some sauces before you get an order, because the portions are massive. So be sure about what you are getting. Salmon, steak, chicken Parm are amazing. The red pasta sauce is not for me, but most I go with enjoy it.

Pros: My husband and I travel all over the US 325 days a year. I am a former chef. It is hard to find really good pasta any where outside of Philly, New York or New Jersey. The kind of pasta where you can taste the love from the chef. If you want really good pasta the kind your grandma makes on Sundays. This is the place. I have no idea where the bad reviews are coming from… that was not our experience. It reminded me of an old school italian restaurant with soft Frank Sinatra music playing and the staff was amazing.
I had rigatoni florentine with heavy garlic and it was amazing. My husband had the seafood pasta special that had 2 jumbo shrimp, 2 jumbo scallops, 2 small clams, and 2 small muscles cooked in a tomato broth. He also thought the flavor was outstanding but for $35… He felt there of been more clams and muscles at least.

Cons: Get rid of the plastic black table covers and bring back the classy white table cloths and candles. The portions for the carrot cake and tiramisu, and lemon torte were too small for $8.00.

We will be back the pasta dishes are well worth it. I can’t wait to taste the vodka sauce.
