We booked this venue for our daughter’s wedding reception and unfortunately had a disappointing experience.
Before the event, we spoke directly with the owner to establish a firm bar cutoff after tax and gratuity, so we’d know the exact amount owed. However, there was no communication with the bartender, who stopped service at the pre-tax total and then added tax afterward, pushing us over our agreed-upon budget.
Additionally, our caterer needed to retrieve equipment after the event. The bartender informed us they were closed Mondays but that pickup would be fine after 4 PM on Tuesday. Instead of contacting us, the parents and paying clients, the owner called the couple and threatened to throw the items away. When we called to clarify, the owner denied saying that and spoke to us in an unnecessarily stern tone, claiming there was “no room” because of other events.
When we expressed disappointment that she hadn’t honored the agreed-upon bar limit, she said she “misunderstood” and added that she felt they “went above and beyond.” Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Clear communication and accountability were seriously lacking from start to finish.

The Barrel Room is a great spot — really nice people, very local and welcoming. The wine was excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxed and cool. Sitting out on the sun deck made it even better. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely come back.
