Northfield Inn Restaurant & Lounge

Went in at 4 o’clock for dinner was handed menus with one set price and then when we got our bill, it was double the price where they are telling us that we were ordering off of the lunch menu, but they gave us dinner portions. Very shady. I was not happy and even when I voiced my opinion, she did zero to rectify the situation. No wonder this place is always dead. Food is great. Service sucks…. Will NEVER GO BACK….STAY AWAY.

Food and atmosphere were terrific!! Love going there.

I just went here for the first time and I have to say the food was fresh and delicious! My friend and I split the homemade cavatelli with meat sauce and lasagne. Both were perfect! The salads were fresh and the homemade Italian dressing was so good! The server was very friendly and good as well. I'm definitely coming back soon for another meal.

Their prices are inconsistent between order out or dine in. If you order one thing they give you another. You’ll have to deal with the rude waitresses and nasty staff on the phone before takeout. This is a failing business. Darwinism is strong here. This business will eventually find itself where it needs to be; out of business.
If you pay for garbage, you get garbage, but unfortunately at Northfield Inn you’re paying overpriced for garbage.
A side of meatballs? You get one.
A salad that comes with the order? It’s brown.
Bread with the order? Hard as a rock.
This restaurant is not worth a dollar. You would do better somewhere else. Don’t waste your money. Seriously.

DINERS BEWARE! If I could post this review without giving any stars I would. What absolutely unacceptably horrible service! We had reservations for 6:00 and arrived at 5:50. We were seated promptly and waited 35 minutes for the hostess to take our drink orders. We attempted to order our food at the same time but the hostess said our server would be around shortly. This was after other diners around us, who arrived after us, had drinks, bread, and salads. Almost an hour after being seated the server took our order. We stressed we had tickets to a concert at the casino that started at 8:00. At 7:30 we still did not have our meals! Tables around us were empty as those diners had finished their meals. The server did not even stop by the table to ask if we wanted our drinks refilled. Finally some meals were delivered by someone other than our server and they weren't even ours! They belonged to the table next to us. At 7:45 our meals finally arrived. We promptly asked for to-go boxes and our bills so we could settle up and be on our way. She put everything on one bill! We asked for the bill to be split and that, of course, took some time (our mistake, we should have just paid the bill and worried about splitting the check later). The checks were still wrong with drink and food orders mixed up. No explanations or apologies were offered. We gave up, paid our bills and left arriving after the lights in the theater had already dimmed. Never again!

Everything tasted ok, nothing spectacular. Also, it was overpriced.

We have been here twice now. The first time I would have given it 3 stars (neutral) food was ok. Nothing out of this world but it wasn't bad. Service was again ok. Nothing spectacular. When we left someone came up to our vehicle begging for money.

We went back there again tonight. Same server. I have honestly never felt so disrespected! The server was more interested in her group of regulars then anything. Asked if we wanted menus and gave us silverware and paper placemats but no menu and back she was chatting away. 10 minutes later she "laughs as herself" saying something about not giving us a menu. I said I wanted to know about the walleye on the board and she just said oh it's really good. I had to ask specifically if it was a dinner or a sandwich? An she just says yeah you can get it as a sandwich. When I order she asks how I want it cooked but gives no options again she's more interested to chat with her regulars. We order and I wish I would have checked the time. It felt like 45 minutes! Finally she said oh I should probably check on your food and then comes back with the plates and says I had to light a fire under their asses! My boyfriend goes to grab a wing and said it was cold. She argues that she watched them take it out of the oven. He told her he didn't want it so she took it back. She asked if he wanted something else but she's already over near her regulars (we sat at the bar) and he said quietly "no I'm disgusted" and she starts SCREAMING "you're not gonna talk to me like that!" So immediately I asked for our bill she throws it down at us and grabs my boyfriends drink he says something about he was going to finish that and she screams she didn't charge him for it. So she goes back reprints the bill and again throws it at us.

I took the bill, walked over to another server and asked for a manager. She herself rang me out. My problem was the server charged us for the meal she took back and my meal that I hadn't even been able to take a bite of and never even offered me a box. I wasn't about to pay for something I wasn't going to even be able to eat!
Food I would give an average 3 star - Atmosphere I would give a 1.5 star bathrooms hidden thru a door and up stairs also sort of drab inside. Service with that particular server was absolutely a ZERO and because of her, we will not go back.
