I have tried many items off her menu and worked several events side by side with Heather and enjoyed myself immensely! Her food is delicious. Great customer service and she comes up with some fantastic menu items. I strongly recommend trying her stuff! The only negative thing I have to say is she is too far away from me! LOLKid-friendliness: I feel all of her food is kid friendly! She has her own children who help her in the kitchen.

I have always wanted to learn how to make pasta and checked out Heather's pasta making class at Sycamore Lake Wine Company. She was very helpful and made this such a fun learning experience. I will definitely be back for more classes soon, looking forward to the barbecue one in May.

Absolutely horrible service. Tried to have lunch there today. Nobody ever came to our table to take our order. Got up and left after 15 minutes of being ignored.

Poboy bread incredible. Best shrimp poboy we have EVER eaten!!! And we've eaten a lot of them!! We had to ask the chef why the fries were so different from any we've ever had, they were so yummy, we're going to try it at home, and keep their secret. The turtle cheesecake was INSANELY delicious and hard to decide which dessert to get!Quaint upscale ambience with midscale prices. Our server, Justin was very attentive and helpful with choices. 5 star in every aspect!

Ma Mama's is a gem of a family restaurant. The atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is out of this world. Our appetizers included the crawfish balls with homemade pepper jelly, stuffed mushrooms, and the roasted cauliflower. Let's not forget the mounds of delicious bread and dipping sauce. Our table of 7 tried a variety of entrees. My fish was perfect as was the pork shank. Desserts are a must here - Ms. Kim is a phenomenal baker. Best key lime pie ever. Come sit at the cozy bar or make reservations for a table and enjoy the best evening.

This time was immensely better than the first time I'd been. The server was super sweet and attentive. She made sure our drinks were topped off and that our every need was met the entire time. The dining room was quiet albeit during the middle of a weekday. Nights can be a bit more clamorous but still nothing unbearable. So for starters, the Mama's Bread--just get it. I had the corn and crab bisque which was excellent. My mom and dad each had a cup of seafood gumbo (not pictured) which they said was very good. They split a shrimp poboy and took the rest home. I had the breaded eggplant Bayou Teche which may be the best thing I've ever had in Louisiana. Too stuffed from lunch, we got a slice of cheesecake with the strawberry compote and a piece of their white chocolate blueberry bread pudding (which is to die for) to go. If you're ever in New Roads or on the False River, be sure to stop in for a nice meal at this gem.

Went there after my daughters white coat-service was great and the food and cocktails were outstanding! Great place to celebrate special events ! Pricey, but I thought it was worth it for a special occasion

Amazing food. I had a salad with grilled chicken, fruit, and feta cheese that may be one of the best salads I have ever tasted !

We had reservations for 5 people at 6:30 on a Saturday night. It was not that busy and we sat outside on the lovely patio. It took 2 hours for our meal to arrive. We did not order an appetizer and only had one glass of wind. It took at least an hour to get our soup and salad. The French onion soup was cold. It was good when we got a second bowl. Three people had German dishes and the spaetzel was cold; one person ordered crab cakes and they were cold and I ordered the Black and Bleu Filet Mignon medium-rare and it came back medium with it it chard on the outside. They brought more spaetzel when we were done eating. Water glasses were only filled once, even though several times we were told that he would come back to fill them. We were really looking forward to coming here but we were very underwhelmed and will not be back or recommend the Tavern.

I ordered the fresh catch of halibut. It was ok but I prefer a sauce instead of naked meat. I ordered lemon which helped it. Asparagus spears were very overcooked. Server was excellent.

The atmosphere was cozy and casual in a beautiful historic tavern. Service provided by our delightful server Dwayne was exceptional. The food was delicious and delivered in timely fashion. Prices were reasonable given the quality of food and service. We will definitely dine here again.
