Jay's Crab Boil & Oyster Bar

From walking in no one greeted customers , waited 15 minutes to get seated at a placed only 30% full on 7:00 pm Saturday. Then was sat at a table where server drop menus and never said a word to us. Felt very uncomfortable about this restaurant. If service is this bad and employees this unpleasant up front, what must the kitchen be like? We sat looked at each other and left to go somewhere else for dinner. With what it cost to eat out at this restaurant it not worth the time or drive to be treated in this manner. Hope they improve there hospitality and service.

Food is overpriced. The smallest lobster roll that I’ve had in Columbus so far. The sauce on the lobster roll was pretty good, but there was hardly any meat just mostly sauce and bread. If you’re going to make lobster rolls that small at least put some meat on it or stop charging people what you’re charging for it. They once had a seafood platter on the menu, but they took it off the menu and now everything that was on that platter is overpriced. The customer service is hit or miss.

Will not recommend this place at all food does not taste seasoned at all I was the last one to get my food and we came as a party it’s flys all around the place dirty dishes it was one server for a party of 12 and they took a 18% out of every single persons meal And the server was getting smart and said she was the manger

My party of six was seated on the outdoor patio, and our server was also the bartender for the entire restaurant, in addition to waiting on two other patio tables.

Our food arrived in three separate waves, with several minutes in between each. We ordered three filet mignons; the first one arrived with the initial wave of food but without a steak knife. We had to wait until the second wave of food to inform our server that we needed steak knives, as the other two steaks arrived at that time. The steak knives finally arrived with the third wave of food.

Upon cutting into the steaks, we found all three to be overcooked. We had ordered them medium, but they had little to no pink. Because of the delay in receiving a steak knife, the rest of my meal became cold.

This was a very disappointing first experience at your restaurant, and I do not plan to return.

Worst server ever. Didn’t deliver drinks until I asked. Ordered lobster bisque and as she brought our meal she said they were out. Worst filet ever., No flavor. Asparagus bland. Scallops not done. Brought sides after I finished WTH. I will never ever be back.

Food was good. Was surprised that I ordered 3 different items and they didn’t have any of them. One was a salad. Who doesn’t have salad? Service was fine. Food came out quick. Our waitress didn’t seem to know anything about the menu. The place looked like they are on their way out. Very few customers for dinner time on a Thursday. Id go back based on the quality of the food.

Was there 7/31/2025. Out of white wine. Seafood boil was bland and over cooked. Lobster was hard. Gnats everywhere. And service was not great and it was not busy.

Loved this! Had the fried catfish with the spicy mayo and it was sooo good!! Will be back!!

I got the jumbo live oysters. They were super fresh and delicious. TJ was my server. He was very timely, polite, and helpful. If you enjoy a great atmosphere and fresh seafood, come here. The staff are also very personable and good at getting you what you want when you want it.
