If you are just passing through Portsmouth you have to stop and try their chilli and grilled cheese sandwiches. Or the Big Mo. They deliver also if you live in Portsmouth. It's worth it to stop and get me something good to eat when I'm in Portsmouth. Give them a chance, locally owned.

This is a staple of Portsmouth and has been for a long time. If your from Portsmouth than you’ve had a Big Mo and Coke at some point in your lifetime. I didn’t give it a complete 5 star because the prices have jumped so high in the last couple of years. A Big Mo and Coke is now $4.99. However, I will always love this place!

Jim Dandy Drive in, literally saved my life as a child. Me and my brother were abandoned at the age of 15. A Big-Mo and a Coke was $0.99 we managed to find enough to change to eat there once a day for over a year. As someone who has seen very hard times and overcome it, Jim Dandy was a God send.I can never thank the owner and their staff enough, they knew us by name and never complained about the bag full of pennies they had to count. God bless the entire staff.Great food, great service and great business.

The hamburger was clearly not from the finest cuts of beef. The burger had a pale appearance and no taste. The onion rings were ok but not worth the trip.
I love eating inside this little hometown restaurant right on the main drag. Their well known for " a big mo and a coke" which is a double decker burger with tartar sauce, lettuce and pickles and if you order it they give you a free Coke?. Even if ordered from the drive thru. Every big mo you order you get one free Coke for each. They also offer delivery to the area. The other food they offer is also good and always hot. Service is fast and friendly also.The dining area is kind of small(seats apx. 30) Other than the smaller dining area, it's a great place to visit for lunch or dinner.
