We went there with my husband and his parents, they all loved their food. I like pork belly.
The restaurant was nice but service was bad.
The lady with short blonde hair, she was pretty rude to my in-laws, my husband, and ignore when I tried to order some drink by looking at me and just walked away and came back later. If I could I would say something, but I didn't want to ruin my birthday dinner like she did.

Novella is always such a treat! I love to sit at the bar to enjoy a delicious cocktail before dinner while chatting with the friendly staff. The food is amazing and the menu is always changing offering great variety. If your looking for a classy restaurant with great vibes stop in and check them out you won’t be disappointed.

Shout out to Chris for the awesome service, and for helping me settle on the lasagna - probably the best I’ve ever had. The ricotta/bechamel substitution helps create a texture and big round flavor that far surpasses the traditional variety, in my opinion, and the crisp crust is an excellent touch:

We were completely ignored at the bar for 15 minutes. Not even a glance our way. They acted like we were an imposition. Once we finally got a glass of wine, they continued ignoring us. No menus, water, or basic courtesy! Never returning! What a disappointment!

Always a culinary journey with perfect wine pairings. One of our local favorites.

Came to dinner with my wife tonight. The food was amazing and so were the cocktails we had. The reason for my low rating is our waitress. Probably the worst service experience I've had in a while. I wanted some parmesan for my pasta and the bus boy was the one who ended up assisting becauseour waitress was nowhere to be found. We were rarely checked on but the othwr tables around us sure were. After asking if we wanted dessert and taking our drink order the drink menu was just taken and shortly after our bill was placed on our table. Guess we weren't allowed to order more drinks? Doubt I'll be coming here again.

My husband and I had dinner at the bar this evening. Our first time at Novella, this summer it was all 5’s. Great dinner and experience. This evening, my husband asked to substitute mashed potato for the polenta and the bartender would not allow. He ordered the walleye. Our cocktails took a very long time. I ordered the chicken Milanese and it was disappointing dry, no sauce, and just pan fried in unseasoned bread crumbs. Understaffed at the bar and busy.

We did the Piedmont tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was excellent! The first dish was my favorite and they all had incredible depth of flavor. The entire staff were friendly and they worked well together as a team to keep service flowing seamlessly. Can’t wait to try the next one!

We enjoyed both our pasta dishes and the Cesar salad. The salad was a generous portion and the dressing tasted homemade with a good anchovy kick. The only tweak I'd make is actually to add some of the parm/salt/flavor from the salad into the olive oil plate (or maybe balsamic). We've also had the shrimp and liked it. The cocktails are hit or miss for me personally-but there is always wine! We will be back.

The food here is good, and the service is phenomenal. I can't wait to come back.
Their complimentary bread knocked me off my toes off the rip, it's dense and buttery with a little salt on top.
The pork belly was bomb, and they put small pieces of apple in their polenta which was a real treat.
I expected them to go light on portion sizing due to the nature of this restaurant, but every dish was a very hearty portion. My entree, the lasagna, came with two hearty pieces.
I cannot remember the name of our waitress but she did a great job! Sorry I forgot your name.
