“One of the nicer DQ's I've been to. The staff has been generally friendly over several years I've patronized this place. I stop here often because they have a clean bathroom and they are convenient between home health patients. I had a salad and cheeseburger today. Usually I get chili cheese dogs. Once in a while they forget the chili or the cheese but they're kids and it's a busy store. I've gotten cakes here too. Usually friendly, good service.”

“When traveling I like to try local places when able. I’ve found myself in Wheeling to photograph the Cathedral. Anyway, I stopped in for dinner, was seated quickly and water received immediately. I kept it simple and just had the burger with fries. It was cooked perfectly and arrived pretty quickly. (This place is not a burger joint, the have options, such as lamb for example.) Chelsey was my server, she did great as well. Would definitely return if I found myself in Wheeling again!”

“Willie Wonka would fit right in! Fat Apple Bakery is so much more than a bakery. It is an ice cream parlor, a toy store, a fun house..a child’s imagination! From the moment we walked in our summer day trip, we were in awe around every corner! We first took the stairs to the 2nd floor where we were greeted by a candy tree. Inside, tons of kiddie rides, a k-nex amusement park, build a plush area and tons of toys for purchase! Downstairs, an ice cream parlor, bakery and candy store! Nostalgic items! When I say Willie Wonka would fit right in, I really mean it! There is an area of factory fun decor complete with their own Oompa Loompa! Candy prices are all over the scale so there is something for everyone! We chose pepperoni rolls (some of the best we have ever tasted) and donuts. The kids made their candy selections and were excited to pay with their own hard earned money. We would love to make a trip back for ice cream, but it was pretty packed. “Amazing Food, Service, and Atmosphere. I asked my girlfriend to marry me and they were so helpful :) I called ahead of time and talk to the owner, Dino. He set aside his best table and made sure his best server, Nicole, took care of all our needs. Then I talked to the dessert chef and she did the rest :) They help make a great memory :) In today's world it is tough to fine such a gold mine. They treat you like family and the food is too die for :) I strongly recommend you also purchase a jar of their world famous spaghetti sauce :)”

This historic 1848 inn in Wellsburg feels like stepping back in time – the rustic charm, cozy fireplaces, vintage decor, and that quirky basement tavern create an atmosphere that's warm, welcoming, and utterly unique. It's the perfect blend of history and comfort that makes every meal feel special. But let's talk about the real star: the wings. Oh my goodness, they are legendary for a reason! Jumbo-sized, perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in sauces that are packed with flavor. I always go for a mix – the classic Hot for that ideal kick, Garlic Parmesan for creamy goodness, and if I'm feeling brave, the Atomic to test my limits (it's intense but so worth it!). No matter the flavor, they're consistently phenomenal – easily the best wings not just in West Virginia, but anywhere I've tried. Paired with their broasted chicken or ribs, it's comfort food heaven.
