Are meals were good. The atmosphere was okay. The service was a little lacking. It always annoys me when the wait staff is unprepared and seems lost when delivering meals to the table. The convenience of the location is probably the biggest draw.

They insist on turning off margarita machine during slower times, it then takes 5-10 minutes to freeze again. I've complained about this numerous times to no avail. Because it took so long for the first one, I didn't have a second one due to time restrictions. You're not saving that much electricity by turning it off and you lost $10 in sales because of the long wait!

I have been to El Portal two or three times. They're good! On my latest visit it was cold inside (which is why I gave the atmosphere 4 stars) aside from that I really like their restaurant and recommend it! 🥰

Horrible experience. The food was not good. The guacamole looked like it was from a can, had a light green look and tasted horribly. The drinks were watered down. We ordered a margarita, and it tasted like straight water. There was no alcohol. The customer service is just as bad. We were met with attitude and rudeness. We waited at the register for maybe around 5 minutes. The atmosphere felt weird. First and last time being there.

Great food, fast service, friendly staff. Yes it's an older building but I love the charm, feels nice to keep older buildings in use. Great food definitely recommend eating in.
Good, clean, fast. I usually get take out here, but I have eaten inside as well- building is old, interior outdated…but the food and service are amazing and even more so being on this side of town where everything is trash and everyone has an attitude….not here.
