Great vibe, good food, and excellent wine at the establishment. Bought 3 cabernet bottles, but all had leakage en route home (see pic). The owner reassured us that it's still safe to drink, saying, 'It's a rare occurrence when a wine that has been sitting on the shelf for some time suddenly gets moved around a lot.' However, no replacement or refund was offered. I planned to give my friend one bottle as a gift… Two weeks later, the taste was significantly different from what I had in-store, possibly due to the incident.
Updates 3/30/25
No response to my last review. We were seated in a different building, and the QR code ordering system remains inconvenient. There's no option to leave a tip, and no staff around to ask about the soup of the day.
Since it was raining, I had to walk outside just to order wine at the counter. The wine glasses got wet on the way back to the table. The sauce was served in multiple plastic cups, and salt and pepper came in hospital-cafeteria-style packets—reminding me of McDonald's.
That said, the food was great!
However, we ordered a bottle of wine and expected matching glasses, but we received two different types. For a place that calls itself a "winery," I expected more knowledge about proper wine service.
Great place for everyone.
Honest Review with Tips for A Successful Experience
I was looking forward to visiting this winery for my birthday based on two different recommendations and then the reviews. Our experience yesterday wasn't so successful, but people love it as it was very busy. Here are my tips:
#1 - Go before 5 on a Friday. We arrived about 4 and already it was busy. When we left a but after 5 and it was crazy busy.
#2 - Ordering from the table via your phone was confusing and very impersonal. We gave up looking for answers and moved to the wine pouring counter to eat and get some answers. Even then they were very busy (although not every chair filled) and it took a while to even get noticed. I had to ask a question to even get acknowledged. In the end, my husband when to the bakery counter and ordered the food. They were wonderful. If not sitting at the counter, order at the ends of the counter where the employees are sure to take care of you.
#3 - The items on the menu do not come with anything else but what is in the picture. We ordered the perogies which sadly, were disappointing. Nothing special at all. I was looking forward to the ribeye as we are both carnivores and the reviews were very good. We ordered (at the pastry counter) the ribeye medium. It came too red for my husband's liking, and it went back. It came back pretty quick and slightly darker but not medium. Now in fairness, the steak had a great flavor as I was the only one to eat a few pieces. Unfortunately, it was super fatty as ribeye's can be, but for $42 it was way too fatty. I wanted to separate the meat from the fat and take a photo but then decided against it. We ended up bringing it home.
#4 - Last tip - Be friendly and personal with the employees. They were busy and some were at the end of their shift and probably exhausted. I witnessed some great customer service with patrons that were regulars, so I know it is there. Once we got their attention, the customer service went up tenfold.
Having had this experience and knowing what I know now, would I go back? It was a long drive for us from Vermilion, but I would love to take a few friends and enjoy a few hours of pizza and wine someday. I WILL give it another try only not order the crazy overpriced and disappointing ribeye and go up to the counter to order. Almost left after 30 minutes of frustration, glad we did not.
Excellent service, food and environment. We sat at the bar and Brodie was Absolutely THE BEST bartender ever!!!! We loved the experience and the attention to detail she provided. Will definitely be back!!!
Great location, excellent service, and delicious menu. Also, the wines are excellent quality. Ashley B. gave really good suggestions!
Fiance and I were itching for a bottle of wine with some fascinating ambience. Bodhi helped us reach our goals with a smile on their face. Cannot wait to come back again
Bodhi was super informative, very attentive, and helped some first timers navigate their way around the menu. I appreciate their dedication to making us feel welcomed and like regulars!
I visited for the first time to celebrate my husbands birthday a couple of weeks ago. Hanah was very patient & knowledgeable when describing the different wines available. The food was 10/10 highly recommend!
Trash service
Very disappointed with the lack of and non existent service there is. We made reservations weeks in advance and were sat right next to the revolving door while it was 20 degrees outside. Our chairs were hard and plastic. We felt like we were in a high school cafeteria.
There are no servers to ask about the menu. We had to walk all the way to the bar to get our own drinks and hope they don’t spill. For the price of the food I expect service.

We had a nice time together at Michael Angelo's yesterday. Pizza and a bottle of wine finished the day.
Great food and wine!
This winery is beautifully and very tastefully done. It’s modern and the food and wine selection is plentiful. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Food arrived quickly.
The process for dining is a bit chaotic. You can either order from the counter. or use a QR code from the table. However, when you order food from the QR code, you can’t order drinks (not even soda). So, you have to go to the bar or the bakery area. If you’re ordering drinks for a group, bring a partner with you or expect to make multiple trips. Also, you don’t have the ability to tip on a card. When food is brought to the table, I like to tip.
What was most disappointing about the experience is that the birthday boy in our group accidentally left a gift there containing expensive hair products. We were the last party at that table on a Sunday, and left as they were closing. He called early the next day and was told it wasn’t there. I called and spoke with a couple of managers, more so to let them know it was clearly an employee who opted not to turn in the gift bag. Again, no one sat at that table after us, which leaves just one scenario. After spending about $400 on food and drinks, this was more than disappointing. They do have cameras so I’m confident they’ve seen who took it, but obviously that wouldn’t be disclosed to me. We were scouting out this winery as a possible venue for a 50th birthday, as well as and end-of-year wedding, but have opted to pass.
My husband and I made reservations for Valentine’s Day for a 5 course meal. We made our selections for each course ahead of time. As you may see in other reviews, this was the first time the restaurant offered this type of service for Valentine’s Day. Our amazing server, Jenn, gave us a heads up that the kitchen was behind.
The food did come out pretty late, but I am still leaving a 5-star review for 4 reasons:
1. The quality of service from our server, Jenn. She was kind, calm, and personable. She kept the wine coming and did a great job of setting our expectations and taking care of us wherever she could.
2. The restaurant’s response to the wait time for food. All of the wine we drank that evening (it was a lot) was fully comped. Then, the restaurant went above and beyond by sending everyone a $50 gift certificate for future use. I don’t think many restaurants would do that.
3. The quality of food when it finally arrived. Yes it took some time to get to our table, but the food was phenomenal! Still dreaming of that filet Oscar. Worth every penny!
4. The wine. Michael Angelo’s has always had amazing wine at an incredible price, and we definitely enjoyed our fair share this particular evening! I can think of a lot worse situations to be in than waiting for a meal with some great wine in the company of my best friend.
Yes there were some hiccups, but we will absolutely be back if they decide to try this type of service again.
Bodhi Is THE BEST!!! APPRECIATE ALL THE KNOWLEDGE, FUN AND EXPERTISE !!!! DEFINITELY A KEEPER HERE !!
