My wife and I happened upon Le Chataeu several years ago while returning from a motorcycle ride. It was dark, late and raining, googled a B&B, Le Chataeu Pier was close and looked intriguing. We enjoyed a wonderful couple days at that time.
We married, two years ago at the Chataeu, everything was handled by Le Chataeu, could not have dreamed of a better marriage, ceremony or place to begin our lives together, in marriage.
September 2, 2025, Christy and I returned to Le Chataeu for our 2 year anniversary. What a great relaxed time, perfect breakfast and way to celebrate.
We truly enjoy this place and recommend it for any event or just to slowdown, take a breath and be grateful.

My son & daughter-in-law had their wedding reception here. It was beautiful, and the food was delicious! Staff was great! I’ve also been to 2 work Christmas parties here, and they were also wonderful.

We were driving past saw the building and were intrigued, so we stopped in and headed downstairs to the bar. It was decorated so whimsical and eclectic. Our drinks and food were wonderful. The owner greeted us and sat and talked to us while our food cooked. The girl at the bar was so beautiful and made amazing drinks. I’d highly recommend stopping here.

I had pretty mediocre expectations about this place but was really taken back by everything this place had to offer. Food was delicious. The rooms were damn near perfect. The bed I slept in was 5 star hotel comparable. The breakfast spread in the morning was incredible! Highly, highly recommend.

A hidden gem located in the countryside. Went there on Thanksgiving, and the buffet was delicious. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. I recommend taking a nice relaxing country drive to the chateau and even spending the night or weekend.

Loved our stay. This place is a mix between a French castle, country manner, and ecletic hangout. Owner and his daughter, who owns the basement bar, are so nice. Bar was so nice and had a live band. Cauliflower crust pizza was awesome. Breakfast was delicious, and it was a nice touch that Todd asked when u wanted to eat. He accommodated us early. I can understand some of the other reviews that were not so glowing. If u are here to eat and are in a hurry, I could see this being a problem. They do not seem staffed for that. I would not let that stop me. Just go and relax. This is in such a beautiful part of Ohio, albeit in the middle of nowhere, which makes it so pretty. Stayed with my son when we were at an event at the Jefferson County Fair. I will be back with my wife and then again with friends for a motorcycle trip as the roads are perfect for riding.
