We were driving past saw the building and were intrigued, so we stopped in and headed downstairs to the bar. It was decorated so whimsical and eclectic. Our drinks and food were wonderful. The owner greeted us and sat and talked to us while our food cooked. The girl at the bar was so beautiful and made amazing drinks. I’d highly recommend stopping here.

I had pretty mediocre expectations about this place but was really taken back by everything this place had to offer. Food was delicious. The rooms were damn near perfect. The bed I slept in was 5 star hotel comparable. The breakfast spread in the morning was incredible! Highly, highly recommend.

A hidden gem located in the countryside. Went there on Thanksgiving, and the buffet was delicious. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. I recommend taking a nice relaxing country drive to the chateau and even spending the night or weekend.

Loved our stay. This place is a mix between a French castle, country manner, and ecletic hangout. Owner and his daughter, who owns the basement bar, are so nice. Bar was so nice and had a live band. Cauliflower crust pizza was awesome. Breakfast was delicious, and it was a nice touch that Todd asked when u wanted to eat. He accommodated us early. I can understand some of the other reviews that were not so glowing. If u are here to eat and are in a hurry, I could see this being a problem. They do not seem staffed for that. I would not let that stop me. Just go and relax. This is in such a beautiful part of Ohio, albeit in the middle of nowhere, which makes it so pretty. Stayed with my son when we were at an event at the Jefferson County Fair. I will be back with my wife and then again with friends for a motorcycle trip as the roads are perfect for riding.

Went to my class reunion and had a great time. Tina and Todd did a great job hosting this event. We stayed in one of their rooms and it was very nice. They also provided breakfast for us the next day. We plan to visit again!

We recently (June 30-July 2) had the pleasure of staying at the Le Chateau in Smithfield, Ohio. It is a hidden gem in this small Ohio town. The family that owns and runs the property couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. I love the historic nature of the property, and the breakfasts were top notch! We will definitely plan to stay there when we go back to the Ohio Valley for a visit!

We called and spoke with Todd to inquire about an outdoor space for an engagement party, accommodating approximately 26 people. We were told that this was not a problem, and if we ordered from their menu the outdoor space would be free. However, as people began to arrive and we placed our orders, it became obvious that this was not at all the case due to significant understaffing. Our food orders were taken around 6:30 or 6:45, but the last order was not received until 9:12 p.m. One waitress was put on the entire group and it was only her third day on the job. No one came out to help her at all. Some people were unable to eat their meals, others received literally a bowl of lettuce which was called a salad. It was very clear that the kitchen was having major issues. We went throughout the night and tried to enjoy ourselves the best we could, many having to use the ladies room in the meantime. There were a total of three stalls one of which was taped closed. The other two which were accessible had seats that when you sat on them slid onto the floor seat and lid in all. Very little toilet paper was available as well. When the evening was over, and we asked to speak to the manager and his assistant, they were very rude, the manager, Todd even raising his voice to the bride to be. He called her cheap and said it was her fault because she didn't have it catered. He even went so far as to say that we weren't being charged for the band inside when we were outside and we had no prior knowledge that there was even going to be a band. I would never recommend this establishment for anything. It appears nice from the outside but in fact is very run down and not taken care of or managed at all.
Excellent food in one of the most picturesque places in the Ohio Valley. This is a must-stop/ must-book locale for anyone local or visiting. Graduation parties, weddings, baby showers, and parties of all types are made classy and enjoyable at Le Chateau. Luna Blue is located on the lower level and often has entertainment as well. One of a kind!

this place is absolutely beautiful ????????i went to dj for my aunts wedding, it was great. so many places to take photos aswell. It was welcoming and such a calm setting too. ????Rooms: they are gorgeous ????????????Food & drinks: food was pretty goood. Heard the drinks were good aswell. I had so i didnt try any other drink
