I'll tell you, we've been here many times, the food is awesome. The owner is very sweet. The chefs cook up some great food. But be prepared to wait. Even with a reservation, we weren't seated until an hour after our reservation time. The chef didn't come to our table until and hour later. Last night it was blamed on previous parties arriving late for their reservation (come on people). But other times it's clearly been lack of enough chefs. It's insane that we've even gone back. And we'll probably still go back because the food is that much better than similar restaurants in this area. But be forewarned, great food may come at the cost of an unreasonably long wait. May the odds be forever in your favor. Hi

Went for hibachi for lunch. Got done in under an hour, I got the teriyaki steak hibachi and it was delicious. The other guys got sushi and chicken hibachi. They all enjoyed it at all. Very reasonably priced - $10ish a person. Would recommend.

The service was good but food was very mildly flavored......our particular chef was not interested in engaging with anyone at the table. Maybe we were just unlucky and had a chef who was having a bad day or something.

My family loves the food here..We only do pickup because its so easy. We order at least twice a month. My only issue are the hours. I wish they were more consistent business hours. Yet I have called an hour or so before opening and was able to place my order for pickup. Also wish they had delivery as well...I would definitely order more if they made it more convenient.

The staff was nice, however, we went at lunch time around 1pm on a Monday. The place was not crowded at all but the service was EXTREMELY SLOW..our waitress had no urgency, she literally took her sweet time with everything. She forgot a few things too. Not very attentive at all. Our Hibachi guy was very nice, but we did not receive an order of chicken. Some pieces of the chicken were undercooked, and the veggies could've been cooked a tad bit longer..overall the food was good though and they give you a good portion. I'd go back and try again..

Don't order take out from here. Called at 230 to place an order for 8pm pick up. Got put on hold as he said they just walked in. Ended up hanging up after 5 minutes of being on hold. I then tried back later at 6 and talked with a man who was their manager. He asked if I looked at the menu and knew what I wanted to order and how much I was ordering. Who asks that? Who calls for take out and is not aware of what they want to order? Not me! He pretty much couldn't guarantee take at 8. That two hours wasn't enough which I was told to do last time from them and he said I was never told that. He said that if they were busy that the customers that were in the restaurant came first and he couldn't guarantee my order would be ready by 8. How is 2 hrs in advance not enough time for a take out order. I said should I take my business elsewhere and his exact words were “Yes I think you should”. As a fellow Solon resident that has young kids at home and can't always get to a restaurant to eat, I was appalled at the service given over the phone by a “manager”. What kind of manager does that. They should say NO TAKE OUT on their website and Facebook! Save your time people, take your take out business elsewhere!

Akira has been recommended to me by several friends, each assuring me it was the best hibachi grill near chagrin falls. I made reservations for 730 on a Monday night for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and when my party and I arrived we were greeted five minutes later by a rude crossed armed hostess who took my name and told me she had to get a table ready. Ten minutes later she seats us at the table we were standing by. Mind you. Nobody went near this table in that time. We sat down a quarter to 8:00 and were served dinner at 8:30, an hour after our reservation. But that's not my only disappointment. Our hibachi chefs showmanship was all of lighting one onion on fire and putting his knife away in a holster. I eat out at restaurants for the experience and when I pay about $25 a plate for 5 people and leave wishing I would have stayed home and made a stir fry, I not only feel disappointed but upset as well that I just wasted my time and money on a special occasion and will choose a different hibachi next time.
