Gyro , not great. Meat thin, wrap is unusually flat and hard. Onions and tomatoes are not cooked and cut into tiny squares like a pizza topping. Don’t think the cook ever saw or ate a gyro before won’t order that again. Worse Gyro I ever had. I don’t think you could make this meal any worse if you tried. Waitress was very nice.

Paprikash was so dry. Server offered more sauce to fix the problem. We were charged $1 extra to make the food edible. Server did not mention additional cost nor should there have been. Manager kept repeating it is their policy. Eat somewhere else where it doesn't cost extra to be able to eat the food. This restaurant used to be crowded. Perhaps it is not the economy but the policies that left it rather empty instead.

My wife and I came to this restaurant this morning on our daughter’s recommendation. The food was not only delicious but also generous in portion, and we even took the leftovers home. The prices were reasonable, and the staff were especially kind and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone reading this.

We came from Korea to visit our daughter in Solon, and it’s unfortunate that we must return this Thursday. When we come back again in January, we plan to visit often.

I wish the owner and all the staff a joyful holiday season and a wonderful New Year.
See you again next year!

The food was bland, no seasoning at all and felt rushed. Had to send my food back for being undercooked. Definitely overpriced. Will NOT be trying this place again.

I've eaten at Chicago Deli from since the time I can barely remember up until I finished high school. Even after moving away and visiting roughly 20 years later, the food is as good as ever, especially my favorite, the reuben (it was called the Reuben Hood back then - same awesome corned beef sandwich). Truly remarkable to see how consistent it has been. A place of comfort and delicious food.

Very good food! The Breakfast Bundle was very satisfying, with 3 pieces of Challah Bread French Toast, 2 eggs, 3 strips of bacon for only $13. And as can be seen from the photo, I didn't like it much, 🤣. The Classic Breakfast Sandwich on a croissant was huge, with a large portion of hash browns & onions, for only $12. Food came out quick, Janice, our server, was very nice and attentive.

No breakfast past 2pm :(
The waitress was super duper nice but I’m really disappointed. For years they’ve had all day breakfast and they have good pancakes it’s just a shame you can’t get them after 2pm.

My father-in-law is a senior citizen with a service animal. His service dog is trained to recognize symptoms of his disability and alert him to them. Today the staff allowed my father-in-law and my daughter to sit down with the dog and look through the menu before storming over and telling them to show papers or leave. Apparently in those very words.

I fully understand that there are people who abuse the service animal designation, and it is despicable. However, that does not negate the fact that it is 100% against the law to ask to see paperwork (or in this case rudely demand to see it) or ask what the disability is. Businesses are allowed to ask what service the animal performs, and that would have been fine. Instead, the waitress and another male employee decided to take the confrontational road instead. When my daughter spoke up for her grandfather and cited the fact that it is illegal to ask for paperwork, the male employee smugly replied, “I’m sorry that you feel that way.” She said that the waitress refused to talk to her at all.

What was meant to be a nice afternoon lunch for a grandfather and his granddaughter will now be remembered for the nasty experience they had because of two people with no sense of decency or compassion for those with disabilities. This is unacceptable. I will be sharing this experience with the Attorney General’s Office, in hopes that no one else will suffer the humiliation that my father-in-law and daughter suffered today because of the staff at Chicago Deli. Knowing what kind of people they are (apparently these are newer owners. It seems like the last ones were wonderful), I wouldn’t recommend this place if it were the last source of food on earth. There are far too many other great dining options in the Solon area to spend your money where this is the customer service experience.

New owner has made changes for the worse. Food used to be great but is now just ok. Service is still very good but not as friendly as it used to be. Atmosphere is very nice a a local deli.
